Jason February 21, 2018 for Model Number 417.9870290 Washer Dryer combo set Washer lid switch internally failed to where it burnt a hole in the side of the lid switch, I replaced it with a new one and now the washer will fill and drain but not agitate or spin. The new lid switch must be working because it stops filling whenever I lift the lid. So I replaced the motor but still does not agitate or spin? Would this be the timer causing my problems?
1 Answer Jason, Make sure that the lid switch is wired properly and that there are no wiring issues and if this checks ok then the issue will be a faulty timer. Read More...
Jerimy October 19, 2016 for Model Number 41798702891 Washer fills and agitates fine. Will begin to drain and then stops. Does not go any further in cycle. New lid lock switch, new water level sensor. Found a small pot metal part by switch assembly when replacing water level sensor. Suspect timer. Can apply positive pressure to water level sensor and unit will drain.
1 Answer Jerimy, You will want to check the drain pump for debris and to make sure that it is not clogged up. If this checks ok then the issue will most likely be the timer. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Harold. You will need to check the lid switch assembly 134101800 and see if it is bad. If it is good, check the pump and see if it is bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Gordon S September 12, 2015 for Model Number frigidaire washer/dryer stack unit Our washer will go thru the wash cycle, the water will drain, but it will not spin. It doesn't do it every time. We have replaced the washer timer assembly once already, but the problem started again after a few months. Would the lid lock switch assembly cause this problem?
1 Answer Hello Gordon. You need to make sure the air dome on the side of the tub is not clogged and make sure the pressure hose on the unit is not clogged on the unit. It is not likely to be the lid lock, but it could be caused by a faulty lid lock assembly. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Scott May 06, 2015 for Model Number FLSE72GCSA Trying to figure out if I have a bad washer timer motor. For troubleshooting, I get 120 volts at timer motor leads during spin. For resistance across timer leads, I have 2300 ohms. Washing machine symptoms are washer motor shutting down on heavy loads due to overheating. Most Cycles seem to be slow and sometimes stop mid cycle.
1 Answer Scott, With the complaint described it does not sound like the timer would be the issue with the unit. You will want to check in between the tubs to make sure that there is nothing caught between them. If this checks ok then the most likely cause would be that the brake is not completely releasing causing drag on the motor which would require a new transmission for this issue. Read More...
Zoltan E. January 02, 2015 for Model Number 417.98702891 Have a stacked washer/dryer and the pump intermittently stoppped working. This led to a spill in the rinse cycle after the drain cycle failure. Thought the pump had an issue but it is getting only ~40 Volts. Hard wired the pump and it is working fine. Besides the timer could there be another component that drains power? Thanks, Zoltan
1 Answer Zoltan, The timer is the most likely problem. Power is supplied directly from the timer to the drain pump through the red/white wire. You may want to check the wire to make sure its not loose, pinched, twisted or kinked. But it's most likely a damaged contact inside the timer. Read More...
Andrew February 07, 2013 for Model Number FLSG72GCT9 I have a washer dryer combo it fills with water and agitates and drains the water but the only thing is it will not spin. Do you think I should replace the timer.
1 Answer Hello Andrew, You would want to check to make sure that the lid switch when closed is getting continuity. Also check to make sure that the brake is not seized which would require a new transmission. Read More...
Trish January 27, 2013 for Model Number 41799570150 The washer fills with water, agitates, but will not drain the water. We replaced the water pump and when we tested it out, it drained a little but seemed quieter than normal and then quit draining. When it finishes agitating, it stops and seems like the timer isn't running. All the different wash cycles act the same - it agitates but does not drain or spin.
1 Answer Hello Trish. You need to check the lid lock assembly 134101800 and see if it is bad on the unit. If so, it will cause the issues you are having with the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
