Mike June 30, 2013 for Model Number GTWN4250M Getting black marks on some cloths, want to take agitator to check under it? Thank you
1 Answer Hello Mike. You jerk upward on the agitator to remove it from the unit. You may need to use a rope under the agitator to jerk upward. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Jojo, The agitator on this model snaps onto the agitator coupler. If the agitator will not pop off easily by pulling straight up on it, you can try placing a small rope under it and allow it to come out from under the agitator at even points side to side and yank up on the rope. 1 Answer Hello Singh. You need to check and make sure the water is draining from the unit properly. Also, blow through the pressure hose and make sure the line for the pressure hose is clear. Either will prevent the unit from going into the spin cycle. Read More...

Ben January 05, 2013 for Model Number WHDSR109J5WW Our top loading GE washing machine is making a metallic grinding noise during agitation. We took the front off and figured out that it's because one of the tub's "feet" has, I think, made a hole in the bottom of the machine (the bottom piece of metal), and the other "foot" is now rubbing against the metal whenever the machine agitates. Is this an "unbalanced washer" problem? Any ideas on how to fix it would be GREATLY appreciated!
1 Answer Hello Ben, If the leveling foot has made a hole in the base of the unit then you would have to replace the base. Check your suspension rods to make sure that they are in place properly and make sure that they are not damaged. Read More...
Ryan December 12, 2012 for Model Number WJSR4160G2WW The agitator Assembly, It seems the top half spins one direction but not the other. There also sounds like something rattling in there when I shake it. The agitator coupling seems to be in good shape. Also when the assembly is on the shaft there is some play back and forth and while the washer is running it sounds like an unbalanced load in the washer, Not in spin cycle just while agitating. Any help here would be awesome. Maybe the washer tub bearing under the inner tub?
1 Answer Hello Ryan, The agitator has a ratcheting device made inside it so it will turn only one way. This is designed like this so the clothes will be properly agitated and produce a proper wash result. It will rattle because of the way it is designed. If the noise bothers you, you can try washing larger loads so it is in the water more. This is the only thing you can do since this apparatus is designed to do what you said it is doing. Read More...
Tom November 28, 2012 for Model Number GE Washer WCRE6270H1WW How much up and down play on the shaft should there be? Mine moves up & down about 3/4 of an inch.
1 Answer Hello Tom, There should not be any play in the agitator or the transmission shaft. If you are getting 3/4" play then check to make sure that the agitator is fully in place properly and see if transmission shaft has that much play. Read More...
