Jim B January 06, 2016 for Model Number GE PDS22MCRACC Fridge and Freezer seem to be working fine. Temp display shows "OFF" instead of temp # for both. Temp displays # when adjusting but then goes back to "OFF". Is this a motherboard problem?
1 Answer Hello Jim. To change the temperature, press and release the WARMER or COLDER pad. The SET light will come on and the display will show the set temperature. To change the temperature, tap either the WARMER or COLDER pad until the desired temperature is displayed. Refrigerator temperatures can be adjusted between 34°F and 47°F and the freezer temperatures can be adjusted between –6°F and +8°F. Once the desired temperature has been set, the temperature display will return to the actual refrigerator and freezer temperatures after 5 seconds. Several adjustments may be required. Each time you adjust controls, allow 24 hours for the refrigerator to reach the temperature you have set. To turn the cooling system off, tap the WARMER pad for either the refrigerator or the freezer until the display shows OFF. To turn the unit back on, press the COLDER pad for either the refrigerator or freezer. The SET light will illuminate on the side you selected. Then press the COLDER pad again (on the side where the SET light is illuminated) and it will go to the preset points of 0°F for the freezer and 37°F for the refrigerator. Setting either or both controls to OFF stops cooling in both the freezer and refrigerator compartments, but does not shut off electrical power to the refrigerator. Read More...
Robert January 04, 2016 for Model Number GE Profile Refrigerator, Model No. PTS22SHSCRSS A month ago, noted the evaporator fan making weird humming noises and then the fresh food section became warm. Changed out the evaporator fan motor and it worked fine. Now I notice the fan making a whirring noise that sounds like the fan is speeding up and then slowing down and repeating. What could be the problem, a bad mother board?

Ken January 03, 2016 for Model Number GSH25JSTASS My refrigerator started making a noise like a fan was going to high speed then low speed, it did this for about one month and now it stopped making the noise. The refrigerator side has gotten warmer except in the fresh food bins, things freeze in there. The water dispenser line has frozen behind the fresh food bins. I have read about the motherboard being defective and or the evaporator fan as being the problem. I checked the motherboard and I don't see any burnt areas. What should I do next. Thanks

Juan December 29, 2015 for Model Number DSS25KGRAWW My GE Fridge is not cooling so replaced the Capacitor and the Overload and the Relay was good and test the compressor and is good. On three occasion I notice inside of the fridge was getting warm so unplug it for 30min or Longer then plug it back in; the compressor will kick-on and start cooling. Now, after replacing the parts mention above the Compressor will not kick-on. So, what could this be?
1 Answer Hello Juan. Based on the information you provided, if there is power to the compressor, then the compressor is bad on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Sarah December 20, 2015 for Model Number Gss23sgsbss Have a 2006 ge side by side gss23sgsbss. When you plug it in the lights come on but dosent run. I had some ice buildup in freezer twice before it quit working on me. I'm hoping it's a minor issue. Please help. I have seen "defrost timer" when looking online. But I can't seem to locate it on my fridge. (Help me find) What else could it be?
1 Answer Sarah, If the unit is not running at all then it sounds like the issue will be with the main control board. The part number for the main control board is WR55X10942C. Read More...
Chris December 19, 2015 for Model Number PSS25SGNABS Hello, I have a GE Fridge about 14 years old model number PSS25SGNABS serial# GD489809. I'm having an issue with the fridge side freezing produce, water etc (too cold) and the freezer side runs warm. Freezer 2-6 degrees while the fridge side is 25-27 degrees. I have replaced the motherboard and it didn't help but I also notice that the mother board may or may not need customizing depending on if its a single evaporator and single compressor model... Can you clarify this and do I need to make adjustments to the new mother board to fit my old fridge? Thanks, Chris
1 Answer Chris, There is no modification needed for the control board. You will want to check the damper assembly in the refrigerator compartment to make sure that the door is not broken off of it. The freezer temp is within range of 2 to 6 degrees but you could test the thermistor to make sure that it is not defective. If the door of the damper is broken then you will need part number WR49X10091. Read More...
Fred R December 18, 2015 for Model Number PSS26MSWCSS PSS26MSWCSS The freezer and fresh food compartment doesn't cool down anymore. I can hear the compressor and fan running but not cooling. I also replaced the temperature sensors in the freezer and fresh food compartment and no change in temperature. Still not cooling down. What seems to be the problem with my ref. Please help. Thank you.
1 Answer Fred, With the compressor running but the unit is not cooling at all you will want to check the evaporator coils in the freezer. If there is very little frost on the evaporator coils then you will want to have service to check the unit due to a sealed system issue. Read More...
Bill S. December 04, 2015 for Model Number PSS26PSWA I have a GE side by side PSS26PSWA and the display stopped working taking the water and ice dispenser with it. It went slowly, if we unplugged it, it would reset and work for a while. But now it has gone dark with no response at all. Can you diagnose with this information?
1 Answer Bill, The most likely cause for this issue would be a faulty display board with it going out slowly. Read More...
Jack December 04, 2015 for Model Number PSC23NGPA WW Neither the water dispenser or the ice dispenser works in the freezer door. When I push a button (such as water) it lights. But as soon as I push a glass in to get water, the light goes out and no water comes out. This is the same for ice.
1 Answer Hello Jack. Based on the information you provided, you will need to replace the main board WR55X10942C on the unit. Read More...
Dustin C December 01, 2015 for Model Number GSL25JFXBLB Our freezer stopped defrosting. We replaced the heater and bracket assembly, the defrost thermostat, thermistor and the main board and now it defrosts fine. When the defrost stopped working the ice maker and water dispenser also stopped working. I had assumed that the water lines had frozen and would start working when the defrost was fixed. Indeed, when we repaired and manually defrosted the freezer the water dispenser worked for one day but quit again and the ice maker didn't work after defrost. If you listen near the ice maker you can hear a whirring noise every few seconds. Any ideas on how to track down the problem?
1 Answer Dustin, With the whirring noise coming from the icemaker but not making ice then it would be a faulty icemaker. If there is ice in the icemaker and the fingers are sitting on top of the ice then this would indicate a heater that has failed on the icemaker. Read More...
