Hello R.R.D., The time required to bring the unit to normal operating temperature is determined by too many variables. This is probably not an issue but you should verify the vibrations are not coming from one of the fan motors, (custom cool fan motor WR17X13035, evaporator fan motor WR60X10185, or condenser fan motor WR60X10209). If so, this a precursor to a failure which can cause loss of food stored in the unit.

Hello Frank. You can use an appliance surge protector on the unit if you choose to. It does help with control boards.

Dennis, You will want to check the temperature sensors in the unit to ensure that they are good. The resistance should be 5K ohms at room temp of 77 degrees, at 36 degrees would be 14.4k ohms and at 0 degrees would be 42.2K ohms. If the sensors check ok then the issue will be a faulty main control board.

Dennis, You will want to pull the unit out and check the condenser fan to make sure that the fan is running. If the fan is running then the most likely issue will be the control board is sticking in the defrost cycle and not coming out. This would require a new control board.

Hello Sonny. It does not sound like the board. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Wil, You will want to check the sensors in the unit to make sure that they are within operating range. The resistance should be 5K ohms at 77 degrees, 14.4K ohms at 36 degrees and 42.2K ohms at 0 degrees. If they are out of range then replace the sensors. If the sensors check ok then the issue will be with the main control board.
