The Digitron is an OEM part for GE microwaves. It is an essential component of the microwave's control board, displaying settings, cooking times, and other information on the microwave's digital display.

Over time, the Digitron can fail due to electrical issues, exposure to moisture, or normal wear and tear. If the Digitron is malfunctioning, it can affect the readability of the display or the functionality of the control panel.

Symptoms of a bad Digitron include:

  • The display being dim or completely dark
  • Inaccurate or incomplete information shown on the screen
  • Flickering or intermittent display issues
  • Unresponsive control buttons linked to the display

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Questions & Answers

For Ge Digitron (Part Number: OEM11650305)

Hello Robert, This sounds like there is an issue with a door switch. It is recommended by the manufacturer to replace all three door switches at the same time since they carry the same current and if one fails, the other two will fail soon after. You will need to order two WB24X10047 and one WB24X25397. As far as getting the digitron replaced, you will need to call us at 1-877-477-7278 with your model and serial number of the microwave and we can set up a shipment of a replacement part under the part warranty at no cost to you. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

The display flickers (multiple times per second). The time remains correct, but the location in which it is displayed will jump around. Sometimes it is in the proper location and sometimes in other locations on the display and maybe sometimes "off the display", i.e. the display is temporarily blank. The microwave will function. It is easiest to test my going to Express and then I can see it count down the seconds but this display of the information jumps around. I was able to achieve proper function at least once by turning off the power to the unit for an extended period of time. Which part do I need to replace or what tests do I need to perform to determine the offending part?

Lucy, For this issue, it would most likely be caused by a faulty digitron that is causing this issue.

Bryan, While the unit is flickering, it would be recommended test incoming power to makes sure that there is a steady constant power. If the power supply is good then this will most likely be the power PCB.

Hello David, This is normally caused by a failed low voltage transformer WB17X10021 since it powers the display. If this does not correct the issue, the display, (digitron), WB27X10856 would then be in question.

Don, With this issue, the most likely failure would be that the control board would need to be replaced since this occurs when the display flickers.

Michael for Model Number SCB1001KSS01

My 13-year-old GE microwave lost the display. No display at all. I replaced the Digitron (WB27X10856) and now the display flickers madly - all the pixels - but nothing meaningful then goes blank. The microwave previously worked perfectly except the display showed nothing as it was dark. What part should I order from you to correct this malfunction? I want to repair this microwave as it matches the built-in oven. I can read schematics and use a vom to test. Is there a part I should order from you? Please provide a link and thank you very much!!!

Michael, the transformer WB17X10021 would need to be tested by unplugging the microwave power cord, then disconnecting the transformer harness located at CN1. The wires should measure 23.2O of resistance. Then the wires located at CN7 will need to be tested and should read as follows: yellow to black are 1.5O, black to white are 5.2O, and red to brown are 1.1O. From there, the wires and microwave would be plugged back in, and the CN7 wires would be tested for voltage and should read as follows: yellow to black 13VAC, black to white 20VAC, and red to brown 8VAC. If the voltage tests good, then the power control board WB27X10861 would be the issue. If the voltages fail, then the transformer would need to be replaced.
