Danny January 14, 2022 for Model Number SCB1001KSS01 Microwave freezes from time to time I have to trip the breaker and then it works fine again sometimes goes days sometimes you have to trip the breaker 3 times in a day
1 Answer Hello Danny, this model uses several control boards which all work together. First check if the selector dial is loose when turned or if the display jumps around while it is turned, if so replace board WB27X10860. If it seems ok, then the control panel (WB07X10927, no longer available) is likely failing which would lock up the mainboard. Powering the mw off/on just resets the control board. Read More...
Mark R. December 28, 2021 for Model Number SCB1001KSS01 Yesterday display stopped responding. Unplugging it and moving to the counter at least allowed something to happen when I plugged it back in, jittery display being one of them. Can use some functions like options or help and get beep, but very brief display or jittery. Cannot set clock. I can press EXPRESS button to run microwave for 30 seconds and it works displaying time and seconds left. Heats just fine. Hoping to purchase just one part instead of the various parts like the digitron, GE WB27X10858 Pwb Pcb, power supply board etc.
1 Answer Hello Mark, While this sounds more like a connection issue, it can be caused by the low voltage transformer WB17X10021 or the display board WB27X10856. Read More...
Jdf December 24, 2021 for Model Number SCB1001KSS01 Display was flickering , reset breaker then OK for a little while. Replaced the digitron . The display would not work with the new one. Put the old one back in and now the unit will not work at all. Also heard a clicking noise from the transformer with the new, but not old one. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
1 Answer With the power supply to the appliance off, the power transformer WB17X10021 for the user controls would need to be tested to ensure that it is within operational tolerance. At the relay control WB27X32849 connection CN1, the white wire and black wire tested together should measure 23.2 Ohms. At the power board WB27X10861 connection CN7, it should measure 5.2 Ohms from the yellow wire to the white wire, and 1.1 Ohms from the red wire to the brown wire. If this tests good, it would be likely that the main control WB27X10858 has failed. Read More...
Eanew November 17, 2021 for Model Number ZSC1001KSS01 Can you tell me how to test the Digitron WB27X10856 / AP3883432 board using a multimeter? As I understand it I can use the Ohm meter to check a board that is not installed. What points on the board do I place the Red and Black probes? Is there a specific reading for which I should expect?
1 Answer Hello Eanew, unfortunately, the manufacturer does not show any way to test the Digitron display board which is powered and fed data from the main control board. In general, you cannot test a display board for ohms values using a multimeter. If the display is fading or segmented, the display board is replaced. Read More...
Eanew November 16, 2021 for Model Number GE Advantium model ZSC1001KSS01 Original Problem as per chat with Appliance Pro: The display keeps "jumping around" and flickers, i.e. the clock displays correct time...but it is constantly on the move center-top left-top right......etc. All microwave and oven functions work properly, even though the display information is "jumping around" and flickers. Appliance Pro Chat Reply: You will need to check the wiring. If the wiring is good then you will need to replace the Digitron WB27X10856 / AP3883432 Part Number: AP3883432 board. We checked the wiring and ordered Digitron WB27X10856 / AP3883432. Last week I received my Digitron part installed it. The screen and all controls were blank and the turntable would turn and we could hear a "clicking" noise. The only way to stop the turntable and clicking noise was to unplug the Advantium. I put the old part back in so I can use the microwave and it functioned as it did before removal (flickering and working). 2 Questions: 1) Do you think the new Digitron board we purchased was faulty since it created a Major Problem, making the Advantium unusable. 2) We still need to fix the original problem with the display (flickering and working) Thank you in advance for your support.
1 Answer Eanew, With the digitron having no display on the new one but the one does then this would most likely be a faulty digitron that would need to be replaced. This would be the most likely cause for this issue. Read More...
Tony October 14, 2021 for Model Number ZSC1001KSS01 Hi, Yesterday I asked for help diagnosing my display that's intermittently erratic. More specifically it sometimes gets into a state where the display is off except for flashes/turns on in seemingly random areas - others have described this as "dancing" in this thread. Turning the dial doesn't seem to affect this behavior. But, if I cycle the power to the microwave the display goes back to normal for a while (hours, sometimes days). The response yesterday indicated the board related to the dial, but I don't think I was clear in my initial message that turning the dial didn't change anything. With this additional information/clarification does that diagnosis still make sense? Thanks, Tony
1 Answer Tony, with the additional information provided, testing would be recommended. With the power supply to the appliance off, the power transformer WB20X10021 (part has been discontinued by the manufacturer) for the user controls would need to be tested to ensure that it is within operational tolerance. At the relay control WB27X32849 connection CN1, the white wire and black wire tested together should measure 23.2 Ohms. At the power board WB27X10861 connection CN7, it should measure 1.5 Ohms from the yellow wire to the black wire, 5.2 Ohms from black wire to white wire, and 1.1 Ohms from the red wire to the brown wire. If this tests good, it would be likely that the main control WB27X10858 has failed. Read More...
Tony October 13, 2021 for Model Number ZSC1001KSS01 Hi, The display will intermittently get into a state where it will flicker, dance (as others have described). When it's in this state, sometimes I can control and use the microwave - it's challenging but it's possible to navigate the menu and start the oven. Also, I can usually get the microwave out of this state by unplugging and plugging back in - this only last for hours or days though. Any ideas on which part might be bad or debugging steps? Thanks in advance! Tony
1 Answer Hello Tony, if the display is erratic when trying to use the selector knob, then likely the knob mounted pc board is failing, it is part WB27X10860. Read More...
Dave H July 21, 2021 for Model Number GE advantium monogram microwave Microwave buttons do not work except the microwave oven light which controls the different settings. The round toggle switch also works allowing the time to be manipulated. All other buttons do nothing. Microwave works otherwise. Would this be the display board part # wb27x10856

Matthew July 17, 2021 for Model Number ZSC1001KSS01 Replacing Digitron Display didn't fix issue. The digitron display board (WB27x10856) on our Advantium 120 oven began flickering and dancing until eventually the display went dark, but the oven still functioned normally (using the express 30 sec button). I have now replaced the display board twice and still oven does not function. Each time when I restored power after replacing the display the oven makes a clicking sound and the turntable turns but none of the buttons function. After replacing the display board the first time I was told it was probably a bad OEM part and was sent another, second time same result. Next step?
1 Answer Matthew, There is a transformer on the unit in the control board that you will want to test to make sure that it is good. If it is good then the power control board WB27X10861 will be the most likely cause for this issue. Read More...
Fred June 16, 2021 for Model Number Model SCB1001MSS 01 I had the wandering blinking display issue on my GE Advantium oven, which seems to be common. However, the common fix, the digitron board, did not work. I was confident, based on my google research, that this was the issue. Could I have purchased a defective new board? Or is something else the culprit? Display wanders, blinks/flashes. After a while it may settle down and display as stable time until the next time I use the microwave and it reverts to the wandering.
