Kenny January 21, 2016 for Model Number WHDSR417D0WW Hi, we have a top load GE washer and the last couple of days we noticed a strong odor while the machine was running, then tonight it started leaking badly while running. We didn't see what cycle it was in, just shut it off when we saw all of the water on the floor. I pulled the front cover off, found a mixture of oil and water in the bottom, and there is a spray pattern of oil around the lower inside of the machine about 3 inches wide. I'm guessing the oil is from the transmission, but not sure where the water came from. The tub was about 2/3 full when we saw the leak and we were able to drain it on it's own. The drain hose clamps appear intact and dry, and the water is puddled on the transmission and brackets directly below the center of the tub. No water anywhere else. What parts do you think I need to replace? Just a note on the odor, we thought it was propane at first (the washer is next to the furnace). We had the odor a day prior to the water leak. Thanks, Kenny
1 Answer Hello Kenny. It sounds like the tub seal WH02X10383 and transmission WH38X10002 will need to be replaced. Read More...
Burt Hicks December 18, 2015 for Model Number WJSR1070A1WW My tub will not spin but the belt is good. What should I try next?
1 Answer Burt, With the tub not spinning, this issue would most likely be caused by a faulty brake assembly which is part of the transmission. Read More...

Tom S. July 12, 2015 for Model Number GTWN3000M0WS It will drain in the drain and spin cycle but will not spin. Everything else works.
1 Answer Hello Tom, I would start with the lid switch WH12X10531. If this does not correct the issue, you will need to verify the timer contacts using the tech sheet wiring diagram and time chart. Read More...

Jeff November 08, 2014 for Model Number WPSR4130W0WW Our GE profile WPSR4130woww Washer is about 15 years old, never has had any maintenance or repair. Lately the clothes come out too wet. It does spin though, just seems not good enough. There is not water at the bottom but the clothes are wetter than they should be. Could this be a stretched out belt? Bad Clutch? pump? thanks
1 Answer Jeff, The first thing you will want to check is to make sure that the unit is not getting off balance. It is a possibility that the suspension rods are worn and causing the unit to get off balance which would cause the unit to not spin properly. If this checks ok then check the belt and clutch. Dave September 20, 2014 for Model Number wwa8360balds G.E. model wwa8360balds: when viewing the machine from the back with the back panel off, there is a rigid black p v c type tube that runs from the top of the machine along the right side panel of the cabinet and extends all the way to the bottom and through a hole. Is it normal for about 1 teaspoon full of water to trickle out of this tube during washing a load? If not what would cause this?
1 Answer Dave, Based on the information it sounds like you would be referring to either the overflow tube which is part number WH1X1807 or the drain hose for the unit WH41X184. The tube should not have water trickle out and would most likely be caused by a restriction in the drain or a failing water pump. Read More...

Cindy May 22, 2014 for Model Number wcxr1070a1ww The spin cycle does not work, when the washer gets to the spin cycle the drum does not spin. Could the drive belt be replaced to solve the problem?
1 Answer Hello Cindy, If the agitation works, the belt is not the problem since there is one belt for both actions. If nothing is working you will need to change the belt WH1X2026 but if agitation works, I would check the drain pump WH23X10030 and lid switch WH12X1043 first then investigate the brake on the transmission assembly WH38X10002.
