Manufacturer Part Number: WB27T11229

The Faceplate is an OEM part for GE ovens. It is mounted on the front of the oven, covering the control panel area where the user interacts with the oven's settings and functions.

Symptoms of a bad Faceplate include:

  • Cracks or breakage that can expose internal components,
  • Fading or peeling of finish, which affects the appearance and readability of the control labels,
  • Loose fit that may interfere with the operation of control knobs or buttons.

Causes of faceplate damage typically involve physical impacts, excessive cleaning that degrades materials, or heat exposure that can warp or distort the plastic.

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

The manufacturer has replaced the faceplate with a smaller retrofit faceplate WB27T11229 that would require the control WB27T11161 and panel WB36T11245 to be replaced as well.

Hello Lyn, The model provided is one that GE has redesigned the control panel on, to eliminate problems with the original design. The complete control panel, overlay, and associated parts have to be replaced because of compatibility. If all parts are replaced, the replacement design lasts for years longer than the original design.
