Al November 18, 2021 Part no: WB21X36771 My L1 and L2 have different wire colors vs. the diagram. The diagram shows L2 as red and L1 as black. My old part was wired with L1 Red and L2 black. Should I go L1 to L1, L2 to L2? Or red Old L2 to New L1 like the diagram shows.
1 Answer Hello Al, L1 and L2 are each 120Vac. Which is red and which is black makes no difference in the operation of the unit at all. I would wire the new part the same as the old one was wired. This will allow the wire length to be proper to each terminal. Read More...
Shawn July 23, 2021 for Model Number JBP78WY1WW11 I have recently installed a WB21X36771 universal surface switch in my range and now it only operates in high. Is this a wiring issue or possibly a faulty switch?
1 Answer Shawn, Thanks for the question!!!! The most likely cause would be the switch or the burner. Is this the same issue that you replaced the switch for? If so you would need to replace the burner. Read More...

Liz October 20, 2020 for Model Number ZEU36RSF1SS ordered part WB30T10067 element radiant from GE as one of the back burners was giving us an error code but the connecting wire was too short. GE now says there is no replacement part that will fit this cooktop as it is 16 years old. Any suggestions other than having to buy a whole new cooktop?

Donald Mccoy April 14, 2020 for Model Number Cook Top is GE JP6 676 J1 I am trying to replace a burner switch of a GE Burner. JP 767 j1. It is supposed to be push to turn on switch. It is not yet installed, as I have tried to push it to verify it is a push to turn unit. I cannot push it. I bought 3, I cannot push any of them. Can you tell me why, will they push once installed and electriciity turned back on? I called the GE Part Assistance Phone no. and the young lady could not give me an answer or verify that I had the correct part. The part no. of the switch is GEH wb21x5243.
1 Answer Hello Donald. The infinite switch p/n AP2023620 is a correct part. To be able to push and turn the shaft you need to turn it first to free the internal mechanism. Thank you. Read More...

Bnp February 27, 2020 for Model Number Kenmore 911.4558611 The shaft on the left front burner broke off so I ordered a replacement part from you. The part (WB21X5243) was received shortly thereafter. Upon disassembling the stove and removing the existing control, I found the terminals are not labeled the same. My existing control has 5 terminals labeled: H1, H2, L1, L2, and P. The replacement control has 6 terminals labeled: H1, L1, L2, P, and HC. The 6th terminal is located between L1 and L2 and NOT labeled. I guess the question is...where does the yellow wire that's connected to H2 on my old control go on the replacement switch? And if not the unlabeled, or HC...do I need a different replacement part? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank-you, BNP
1 Answer BNP, the terminals of the new switch have been relabeled and repositioned by the vendor. Form top right corner and clockwise on the switch: L1 is the top right (silver)terminal, the middle(silver)terminal is also L1,bottom right side(brass) terminal is L2, Bottom(brass) terminal is P, bottom left side(silver) terminal labeled "HC" is the same as H2 on original switch and top left(silver)terminal is H1. You will have one(1) empty L1 (silver)terminal when completed. Thanks Read More...
Val September 25, 2019 for Model Number rb626c1ww Hello all! Does it matter if the replacement switch for the surface elements operate a 6 inch or an 8 inch surface element, or are the switches specific to the size. I was told that the switches are different for each element size (6 or 8 inch). My past experience was that they were used for either, the small or the large surface element. Your replacement only show one switch for the surface elements. I'm betting the oven has a different switch to operate bake and broil functions. I have a surface element indicator light that doesn't shut off. I am presuming one of the four surface element switches are to blame. Thank you in advance for your quick reply and/or suggestions. BTW... Love your instructional videos! Sincerely, Val @ Biscayne Apartments No stranger to ovens
1 Answer Val, It does matter, the switches are specific for the size and wattage of the element it controls. I would recommend you order the specific switch for the element on your range, and order by the correct model number. Read More...
Peg K. August 08, 2019 for Model Number JP6510J2 I received a replacement switch that was supposed to be compatible. All went fine until the last terminal connection. The P wire end connector is quite a bit smaller than the P switch extension spot. Is there an adaptor to make it compatible?
1 Answer Hello Peg, These connectors should be available locally at a hardware or automotive store. They should be about 3/8th-inch female spade connectors. Read More...
