Questions & Answers

For Ge Refrigerator Main Control Board (Part Number: OEM11872752)

1 Answer

Kathy, it is very likely that there is a defrost drain issue. If the evaporator cover in the bottom of the fridge is removed, the defrost drain can be checked to identify if ice has accumulated over the port. If it has, the drain would need to be thoroughly cleaned with hot tap water and the drain tube WR02X11848 may need to be replaced if it has pinched.

Ivan, The part number WR49X10152 is a manufacturer's replacement kit that is for the model refrigerator 'PSC25PSTBS'. This kit includes the board, a wiring harness, and an instruction sheet. This is the replacement provided by the manufacturer.

John, According to the tech sheet, there should be a constant voltage to the ice maker. You have to test with the door switch closed. Other than that you will need cold enough temps to close the thermostat of the ice maker for it to cycle. If it is cycling then just test for voltage at the water valve when the ice maker is cycling and if you receive 120 VAC then replace the water valve.

Patrick for Model Number PSW23PSTASS

My FF temp display is 45-55F. Fridge runs constantly to try reduce temp. Actual temp with independent thermometer will reach 20-25F and FF compartment is frozen. The issue began about a 6 weeks ago and continued for a week then appeared to somewhat correct itself although FF temp readout would not read below 39 even when 37F commanded but freezing condition did not continue. Issue of FF compartment high temp readout and associated FF compartment freeze returned yesterday. Replaced FF thermistor; temp readout remains high and freeze condition continues. Is replacing the main control board WR49X10152 the next step? Thank you. Patrick

Patrick, Replacing the main control board/"mother board" should be the last resort. First check and clean the condenser coil in the compressor compartment, and front kickplate/grille. Check and make sure the temperature sensor and air tunnel openings aren't "blocked" by articles on the shelves. The you'll need to remove the "custom cool" drawer and check the air plenum and the Damper assembly to make sure the damper doors are opening and closing properly.

Hello Jan, Often the manufacturers will design more than one unit to operate on the same control as they also design many parts to be used on multiple models. This is not unusual.

Mark, You can use your harness if the replacement part did not come with one. Some are kits with all parts and some are only the control.

Ed, This would be the correct board for the unit as it is one of the boards that was subbed to the [AP49x10152]. It is possible that you may have received an older board from stock.
