Symptoms of a bad Main Control Board include:

  • Dishwasher failing to start or stopping mid-cycle
  • Unusual error codes displayed on the dishwasher panel

Questions & Answers

For Ge Main Control Board Kit (Part Number: OEM11875704)

Mike, if the LED was flashing 4 times in a second, the failure would be in the machine control WD21X24900C. If it is flashing 6 times in 3 seconds, hold the start and heated dry buttons for 5 seconds. If it is flashing 7 times in three seconds, the heating element WD05X30818 would need to be tested from the wires at the main control at connection J702. The heating element should measure 23.4O. The voltage output would also need to be tested going from the main control to the user interface and it should measure about 13VDC. If there is not voltage, the machine control has failed. If there is voltage, the user interface WD21X31899 has failed.

Warren for Model Number GDF520PGJ2BB

I have a 2017 GE dishwasher model GDF520PGJ2BB serial#GH701191B The dishwasher won't start. When I use to open the door the lights would come on and beep once and now they don't. So I shut the circuit breaker off to reset the unit and it worked for about a week. Now that doesn't work. Now if I hit the start button the lights come on. After I hit the start button to make it run after a couple of seconds the start button light starts to flash and beep and it will not run. I thought it was door latch so I replaced it. That made no difference so I replaced the main control board and still have the same issue. Any ideas what else to check?

Warren, For this issue, you will want to check the led light on the mainboard and see what flash pattern it has in accordance with the tech sheet. If it is flashing normal standby then the issue will most likely be the display board that is faulty.

Matt, Check the door switches on the unit to make sure that they are good as this could be a potential problem. If this checks ok then double check all wiring and if the wiring is good it is possible to get a bad board.

Bill, If the touchpad is not working then this will most likely be caused by a faulty control panel with the control board having been replaced.
