Jeff April 23, 2015 for Model Number DBL333GY0WW I need to replace the lower felt seal (part# AP2043044) on my dryer. It calls for it to be glued on. Does glue come with part or if not, what kind of glue do I need. Thanks
1 Answer Jeff, You would need to use a high temp adhesive for the felt seal on your unit which will be part number WPY055980. Read More...
G Hopkins June 01, 2013 for Model Number DVL223EAOWW Hello ~ We are having our clothes get caught at the inside top edge of the drum as it spins, leaving brown marks and sometimes tearing. The drum also squeaks as it spins. Can you tell me which parts we might need to replace if we decide to do so?
1 Answer G Hopkins, You will want to check the front bearing slides WE03X10001 on the front of the drum for being missing or damaged which would cause the squeaking and cause the drum to allow clothes to slip in between the tub and the front. Read More...
Kathy June 21, 2012 for Model Number DPR483GA0WW I want to replace the felt drum seal myself. Will the part come with everything I need to do this and will it be fairly self-explanatory? In other words, can a layman (woman, acturally) do this?
1 Answer Hello Kathy! The top drum slide is part number WE03X10001 and the bottom is part number WE9X105. It's pretty straight forward. Remove the front of the dryer, remove old felt, get rid of as much of the left over felt as possible and glue the new one in place. Hope this helps, thanks! Read More...
Karen March 19, 2012 for Model Number DSXH43EA0WW This is Karen again...thank you for your response to my question, but what about the upper and lower felt, do those have to be replaced as I'm not sure they even exist in the dryer anymore, it is 11 years old? Thanks again!
1 Answer Hello Karen. Yes, it would be very wise to replace the upper felt WE03X10001 and the lower felt WE9X105 as well in the unit. Hope this helps. Read More...
Karen March 18, 2012 for Model Number DSXH43EA0WW Hello. I have a General Electric electric dryer model # posted above that is leaving brown marks on clothes. I have two questions. First, the gap between the steel drum that rotates and the steel edge near the edge of the drum is uneven. It is larger at the bottom than the top (seems like the clothes get stuck in the bottom gap). Is this gap supposed to be even all the way around? If so, it seems my drum has loosened and "fallen" down a bit? Second, is there something that is supposed to block this gap, we can feel something in the gap (is this the upper and lower felt?) but not sure if it has worn away so much that it has exposed that gap and allows clothes to get caught. Thank you!
1 Answer Hello Karen. There are several parts I would replace in this case. First the rear drum bearing kit WE25X10001. This supports the rear of the tub and takes a lot of wear. If the unit is to be torn down, I always install this kit to prevent another tear down in the near future. Next, the front drum slide WE03X10001. This part supports the front of the tub. The other part I would change is the idler pulley WE01X10218. Wear gloves while you're in there to prevent injury from all the sharp edges and have a great day! Read More...
Jeff February 16, 2012 for Model Number DVL223EAOWW Need to replace upper slide drum and lower felt seal. GE model #DVL233EAOWW. Suggested parts are AP2042548 upper, AP2043044 lower. These parts are more expensive than AP2142648 lower and AP4319934 upper. The upper parts look exactly the same! The lower may not be as long or thiner or wider but it looks similar only black instead of white. Thanks for your honest opinion NOT your salesmen opinion. Jeff
1 Answer Jeff, we can only offer the parts for your appliance that the manufacture suggest as manufacture replacement items which are part numbers WE03X10001 for the upper and WE9X105 for the lower on your model DVL223EA0WW. The manufacture does not offer any other replacements or cross references to your appliance. You're more than welcome to try the parts you have found for a lesser cost and return them if for any reason they do not work with your product. John A. Ankner September 10, 2011 for Model Number DBR453EAOWN what needs to be replaced if the dryer drum does not spin when you put cloths in drum but spins with no cloths.
