Jim April 16, 2016 for Model Number GFLD560N10SS GE Dishwasher start taking water in after a while it stops. I ran factory test , got No error sign however as far as i understand Circulation pump didnot start . is there any way to check whether circulation pump really bad or not? Thanks
1 Answer Jim, If the unit is bringing water in while the unit is shut off then the most likely cause will be a faulty water valve WD15X10003. Read More...
Dennis April 04, 2016 for Model Number PDW9280NSS Almost 9 year old GE dishwasher no longer gets dishes clean. I removed and cleaned the sump filter, which was extremely clogged, but still not cleaning dishes very well. Could this be an issue with the automatic detergent dispenser, or maybe the circulation pump? There is evidence of water to the top rack with water gathered on top of glasses, just not very clean. Suggestions?
1 Answer Dennis, It would be more likely that the circulation pump may have something clogged in it or damaged impeller if the detergent is not in the dispenser at the end of the cycle. Read More...
Ken February 21, 2016 for Model Number pdw9280l00ss I had the water supply valve shut off to dishwasher due to a leak. i did not tell my wife this and she ran the dishwasher. Now i have no water getting to the unit during a cycle. Tried turning power off at the fuse panel hoping it would reset for a couple hours and still nothing. I suspect it burned the motor/pump out. Any ideas or am I on target? Thanks.
1 Answer Ken, With no water getting to the unit and it having been run with no water turned on then it more than likely cause the water valve to fail. The part number for the water valve is WD15X10014. Read More...
Matt June 17, 2015 for Model Number EDW5100N10BB For the last week my every time I run my dishwasher it does not drain. There is about 1.5 gallons of water at the bottom of the dishwasher when the cycle is completed. I'm thinking about replacing the pump assembly, but not sure if that is going to fix the problem. Any suggestions?
1 Answer Hello Matt. Check and make sure the drain hose and pump is not clogged. If not, then see if there is power to the pump. If so, and it does not run, you will need to replace the drain pump WD26X10025 on the unit. Read More...
Jim February 04, 2015 for Model Number pdw7880p00ss For a few weeks now, my GE dishwasher (pdw7880p00ss) will intermittently not drain - when the cycle is done water is standing in the bottom. If I run it again, it drains just fine. For a few days, it did not run at all when the timer was set at night, but started when I ran it in the morning. Finally one morning it wouldn't run at all. It has power, the lights are on, door is closed firmly, selections change when buttons are pressed, and the countdown timer even progresses like it's running but the motor doesn't come on at all. I replaced the control module thinking that it was a timer issue. The dishwasher ran perfectly through a test cycle and a load of dishes, then the next day didn't drain again. When I tried to start it in a speed wash to get it to drain, it doesn't run at all again (same symptoms as before). Any suggestions on how to better troubleshoot before replacing anything else would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jim
1 Answer Jim, For the dishwasher not running at all you will want to check the door latch switches to make sure that they are good. Test them for continuity. If they do not check ok then replace the part. Read More...
Greg January 23, 2015 for Model Number GLD5500L15CC When the dishwasher is running it is making a loud noise and has a bad vibration.
1 Answer Greg, You will want to check the wash impeller to make sure that there is nothing clogged in it and that the impeller is not damaged. This issue sounds like the motor bearing may be bad but the impeller is the first thing to check. Read More...
Rb January 03, 2015 for Model Number GE Dishwasher PDW7880J15SS My GE dishwasher stopped mid-cycle with water in the bottom of unit. Only the power button light flashes (no other buttons light up). Nothing is working on the machine and the buttons on the control panel do not function, but the power button continues to flash. Checked power and circuits to the dishwasher and all is fine. Do you have any suggestions?
1 Answer RB, You will want to check your door switches to make sure that they are good and if they check ok then the most likely cause for the failure would be a stuck key on the keypad part number WD34X11233. Read More...
Clayton November 26, 2014 for Model Number GLD5950N10CS I just moved into this house and the dishwasher is not getting the dishes clean. At first I was not getting water. I replaced the water inlet valve and now I am getting water but I don't think I am getting enough pressure to properly clean the dishes. I am thinking could be the pump/motor asy, the impellar or low water volume. Any ideas? If you tell me to check water volume can you let me know how to check that? If water volume is good, then what? Thanks, Clayton
1 Answer Hello Clayton. First clean all the spray arms and the filters in the unit. If all of that is good, and the issue continues, then you will need to replace the circulation pump WD26X10053 on the unit. Read More...
Larry November 11, 2014 for Model Number PDW9280N2055 No power. Control panel out. Checked electric circuit panel and breaker is on...flipped it off, then back on.. Wall switch is on. "Think" we may have smelled a slight burning in basement, but not sure. There is water sitting in bottom of washer. Don't smell anything like burning under dishwasher. All switches and outlets on the wall are OK. What could the problem be?
1 Answer Hello Larry. Test for power to the control board. If there is power there, you will need to replace the board WD21X10367 in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Bob November 01, 2014 for Model Number PDW7880J10SS The dishwasher totally shuts down 6 minutes into the cycle, no lights no nothing. About 2 minutes later it comes back on, drains, restarts and then shuts down again 6 minutes in. It is a bit loud when washing, it sounds like waaaummp, waaaummmp, waaummmp, and then shuts down. I thought it was the control board and replaced that but it still does it. If the motor is going bad will it shut the unit down?
1 Answer Bob, Normally a motor going bad would not cause the entire unit to shut off but is a good possibility with the issue that you are having with the noise. Read More...
