Causes of a bad pump and motor assembly can include mineral buildup on pump parts inhibiting water flow, worn motor windings reducing efficiency, or damage from freezing temperatures.

Symptoms of a bad pump and motor assembly include:

  • Inability to fill or drain water from the dishwasher
  • Abnormal noises coming from the motor area
  • Leaks or water not circulating properly

This OEM part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Anish, You will want to check to make sure that the drain pump is cycling on when it gets to the drain cycle. If not then check to ensure that there is 120 vac getting to it. If there is and the pump is not running then the issue would be with the drain pump.

Hallon, If the unit is not pumping the water out of the unit then you will want to check the drain pump to make sure that it is not clogged and make sure that the impeller is not damaged. If this checks ok then check the drain to make sure that it is not clogged. If all checks ok then the drain pump WD26X10039 would most likely be the cause of failure.

Brad for Model Number GLD6260L15SS

Help guys. Recently, my 7 year old GE D/W has begun making an odd sound. Just through audible diagnostics, it sounds like bearings are going out making a continuous shrill, squeaking sound. Also, I believe it to be coming from the bottom of the unit. This sound happens gradually throughout the cycle. I have managed to keep the inside clean and have had no problems otherwise. So, is it time to invest in a new stator assembly? Or, "Mechanism Asm" as it is called? Are there any other parts that rotate and wear out over time? What are these models prone to? Thanks

Hello Brad, A high pitched squeal is usually the indication of a foreign object or other piece of debris is contacting the pump impeller. I think you need to open the pump up and see if you can locate the foreign object. You may not even need any parts.

Hello Jason, Most of the time a loud hum from a dishwasher is simply a vibration that can sometimes be corrected by moving the water supply and drain lines around. Make sure also that all four feet are firmly contacting the floor and the unit is secured to the counter top. With the kick panel off, you can move stuff around under the unit to try to find the source of the noise.
