Jim November 28, 2016 for Model Number JVM1490BD003 Do screws come with a replacement handle for this unit? Part #1801. If not can I order some?
Dennis November 02, 2015 for Model Number JVM1490BD003 I have removed the "choke cover?" and can see the upper handle screw, but the bottom screw is still covered. It looks like that part is held in by 6 screws but after removing those the part is still secure. What else is holding that part?
1 Answer Dennis, Once you remove the choke cover, you need to raise, remove the door latch and spring WB10X10021 and remove the lower door handle screw. " DOOR DISASSEMBLY 1. Insert flat type small screwdriver into the gap between choke cover and lower right corner of the door frame first and then around the seal plate to free engaging parts of choke cover. 2. The latch can be removed by lifting up the latch until pins clear mounting holes. 3. Disconnect spring. 4. Remove the door handle with/by unscrewing the two screws." Read More...
Justin M. November 16, 2014 for Model Number JVM1490BD003 Please provide detailed removal and installation information. I can get to the top screw, but can't remove it. I can't get to the bottom screw. Help!
1 Answer Hello Justin, You will have to remove the choke cover to access the second screw. This should also make the other screw accessible. This is done using two small paint scrapers, (putty knives) and should be done carefully to prevent breaking off the retention tabs. Many times the choke WB55X10428 will have to be replaced when removed since the tabs will snap off during dis-assembly. Read More...
