Hello Eric. To remove the burner WB16K22 you will remove the screw at the front and the two screws at the bottom of the burner. Then you can lift the burner out of the assembly. You can remove the oven igniter WB2X9154 from the unit with a small hand ratchet or box end wrench and not have to remove the burner. Hope this helps.

Hello Stacy. The top burner should not lite unless the unit is set to broil. If it does not work in the broil cycle, Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter WB2X9154 will need to be replaced. You should not smell raw gas inside the unit when not in use, the gas valve may be leaking. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Candice, You're pretty much on track, you most likely have a weak bake burner igniter WB2X9154. You'll need to, turn power off and turn th gas supply off to the range. Open or remove the oven door, and oven racks, remove the oven bottom panel, and you should have access to the flame spreader and igniter, at that point. Remove the flsame spreader from the top of the burner tube, remove the two screws holding the igniter bracket to the the mounting bracket on the burner, and reverse the procedure to install the new part. Good Luck and Thanks

Hi Nancy. It is rather unusual that the bake igniter part # WB2X9154Oven or broiler igniter, round style - Made by GE. Replaces all round style (Carborundum) oven igniters. Includes two high temp wire nuts. Range: 2.5 to 3.0 amps. Does not replace flat style igniters. Caution: the dark grey coil is very fragile, handle with care. Igniter fits Whirlpool, Frigidaire, GE, Maytag, Magic Chef, Kenmore, and others. Check it cold at 45-800 ohms not open. Rather it is controlled by the safety valve part # WB21K5009. Thank You.
