Kristi May 18, 2012 for Model Number JGSP21GER3WH I Just replaced the igniter. The broiler comes on, but the bake will not.

Chris O. May 15, 2012 for Model Number jgbp35bea4bb I need to replace the broil igniter but I cant find how to get to it in the oven.
1 Answer Hello Chris. Open the door and remove the racks from the oven. Then, look top at the top and you will see the burner tube and the igniter at the top. Remove the screws from the broiler burner securing the igniter. Once removed, you will pull the old igniter out and install the new igniter WB2X9154 into the unit. Read More...
Leny May 05, 2012 for Model Number Maytag gas oven MGR577o8DW my broiler ignitor (glows) stays on all the time is this nornal?
1 Answer Leny, No, the broil igniter 74007498 (neither igniter for that matter) should be glowing when the oven is off. When you make a bake or broil selection and set a temperature, that's when the igniter should start to glow and ignite the burner, the igniter should cycle off and on as the temperature increases and decreases, but will have a "red" glow to it, the complete cycle, until the control is turned off. You'll need to check for "0" voltage to the igniter, with a multi meter, when there is no broil selection made on the clock, If there is substantial voltage present, you'll need to check the broil relay on the control WP5701M509-60 , for an "open" or "closed" circuit, or a damaged wire. Here's some meter usage information if you need it [ http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html]. Jan April 16, 2012 for Model Number Hotpoint RGB746GEN1 Oven and broiler wont start (70% of the time). When I press either bake or broil, I dont hear click, neither will start. Tested sensor, 1095. Voltage to control panel is ok and all functions on panel working fine. It was suggested that ignitors are bad, seems weird that both should fail at the same time, I use oven 1000X more than broiler.
1 Answer Hi Jan. Unfortunately, it seems that the control board WB27T10083 has been discontinued from the manufacturer with no replacements available. Sorry. The click you mention is from the clock relays as they open and close. I agree that it would be odd that both igniters be bad at once. Thank You. Read More...
Cat April 10, 2012 for Model Number 3627132891 Installed a new igniter. The two wires that extend from the igniter, I connected into the white ceramic prongs with no problem. There is a cord from the back of the oven which has a plastic type part that needs to also have a wire from the igniter inserted. When I tried to insert the wire from the igniter into that plastic part, the plastic part broke. I need the name of that part to replace it. Cannot tell if you sell it because I dont see an image of it on your site.
1 Answer Hello Cat. If the connector broke for the igniter, you will need to order ceramic wires nuts DE81-08428A and splice the wires together. Hope this helps. Read More...
Al March 28, 2012 for Model Number GE SPECTRA LX44 I set clean oven a puff of smoke came from top of range. Replaced control board, everything works except broiler. Igniter does not glow, do I need to replace it .Afraid to try oven clean again in fear of control board burning up. Thank you
1 Answer Hello Al. You will need to test the igniter WB2X9154 and make sure there is power coming to it during the broil cycle. If there is power there, and the igniter does not glow, you will need to replace the igniter WB2X9154. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Matt F March 26, 2012 for Model Number JGBP30WEA5WW I had a power outage today and now my oven won't light. Do I need a new Ignitor and, if so, is this the one I need?
1 Answer Matt, I wouldn't expect the igniter(s) to get damaged in a power outage, but anything is possible. You do have the correct part number for both igniters in your oven. If both igniters do not glow and ignite, then you'll want to check for damaged wires in the back of the range and check for possible damage to the control/ERC WB27K10143 it's more susceptible to a voltage spike. Ricky March 05, 2012 for Model Number JGRS06BEJ1BB The Bake and Broil set, then pressing won't start to heat up. Could it be the Oven Igniters? Only hear 1 click and nothing. Please help.
1 Answer Hello Ricky. Make sure the limit switches WB24T10067 read closed for continuity. If they are good, and the unit does not power the igniters, you will need to replace the clock assembly WB27X27464. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Eric March 02, 2012 for Model Number 3627326192 Just purchased a new ignitor however the diagram shows two wires without any ends on them. The existing ignitor has one prong plug of sorts and a little box quick connect. Assuming I just cut the wires and wire nut them back together does it matter which one goes where?
1 Answer Hello Eric. No, it does not matter which wire goes where on the igniter WB2X9154. Hope this helps. Read More...
