Joe for Model Number GE XL44 model #JGBP32AES2AG

Just replaced the ignitor you sent, and with the help of a previous question answered (Thanks! Those hex bolts are very hard to get at on my model. In fiddling with it further, I discovered you can slide the burner assembly up,disengaging the pin on the back, making it very simple to work on the hex bolts!). Now, however, even though the burner lights, the ingnitor does not stop glowing. IS THAT NORMAL? I notice the broiler ignitor also stays on.

Drk for Model Number WB2x9154

I got the reflector assembly removed, and online instructions say to "remove ignitor from burner assembly by removing two screws near the rear". However, they are actually two hex bolts that are completely inaccessible. I looked to see how the burner assembly comes out, thinking that would facilitate the removal of the ignitor, but that seems to be attached with two equally inaccessible hex screws. How do you take EITHER the ignitor or the burner out??

Hello Drk. After the flame spreader is removed, you can remove the hex screws with a small socket and wrench from the burner bracket. These are a little tight to remove, but with a small wrench and socket, can be done. Also, some technicians use a box end wrench to remove them, with the ratcheting action. Once the screws are removed, you can replace the igniter WB2X9154. Hope this helps.
