Joe December 14, 2011 for Model Number GE XL44 model JGBC15GER4AD Oven and broiler not working but burners on stove top are. On the other questions about the XL44 it is stated that the oven and broiler have 2 seperate igniters but mine appears to have only 1 that serves both areas. Does this particular model number have only one igniter in the oven/broiler area?
1 Answer Hello Joe. Yes, based on the model number you provided, it only has 1 igniter WB2X9154 for the bake/broil. Hope this helps. Read More...
Gary December 14, 2011 for Model Number SF114PXSW1 Hi. We have a whirlpool gas stove. Oven and broil don't heat, but top works great. Any ideas on what the problem can be... Thanks
1 Answer Hello Gary. Test for power coming from the control assembly when the unit is set for the bake cycle. If there is no power, you will need to replace the control board W10831525. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Evelyn A. December 07, 2011 I have a Maytag gas range. The ignitor on one of the top burners keeps clicking constantly. I have to unplug the range inorder to use the rest of the burners. How can I disconnect the ignitor on the bad one.
1 Answer Hello Evelyn. You do not need to disconnect the igniter, you need to replace the spark module on the unit. If the igniter is disconnected, it will still send power through the wire and can possibly short out. Hope this helps. Read More...
Gary December 07, 2011 I have a GE Spectra stove and I crossed the wires up changing the plug and when I turned it on it lit up for a few seconds and then it made a pop sound and the electric part that control the oven blacked out. Now its hooked up right the the top work but my oven doesn't.
1 Answer Hello Gary. Based on the information, you have shorted out the clock assembly and you will need to replace the control board. Hope this helps. Read More...
Mike December 03, 2011 for Model Number GE JGBP33SEH5SS I am having a problem with the bottom burner in my oven. The ignitor wont turn on. I have checked voltage and am getting nothing to the ignitor. What could be causing the issue. Thanks
1 Answer Mike, Are you sure, the wires you checked for voltage were from the chassis harness and not to the igniter or safety valve. If you have no 120 VAC to the igniter, when you program a bake cycle, you have a wiring issue between the ERC and the Igniter or a faulty relay on the ERC WB27K10355. Dan December 03, 2011 for Model Number 66575023100 or 75023100 I have a Kenmore Ultra Bake/Self Cleaning/Super Capacity Stainless steel/Black colored oven. My problem is when I set the temp on Bake mode at any degree setting, I have to manually light the oven with a grill lighter or else all I hear is clicking. Then when it tries to maintain that temperature and tries to ignite again I have to use the grill lighter to light it once again. Is it the igniter or something else entirely? Also, I typed in the model # into your site and it came up as a refrigerator. If it is Igniter, what igniter should I purchase from you? It's not flat, it's round. Thanks
1 Answer Dan, there are a couple of possibilities, A faulty reignition circuit in the DSI spark module WPW10331686 or a weak solenoid circuit on the gas distribution valve WPW10293048 . I take for granted the top burners work properly and you have already checked the bake burner and spark igniter for being clean and grease free. At the gas valve you wouild need to remove and label all three wires and measure resistance from the center terminal to the two outside terminals for 215 ohms resistance +/- 10%. Reattach the wires, make a bake temperature selection and check for 8 to 18 VDC from the center terminal(orange) and the bake terminal(red) wires while the igniter sparks. Low or no VDC, would indicate an issue with the DSI spark module. heres some meter usage information should you need it [http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html] Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
Brian November 29, 2011 for Model Number CGR324OADH I was baking oven temp was on at 250 deg. working fine for 45 min. heard a pop and oven was off. Top burners still work fine. Oven int. light works but the clock and all controls for the oven inop. Is this an ignitor problem or something else. I removed back panel from the stove and noticed a black spot in same area where the wires go into oven and connect with the broiler ignitor.
1 Answer Hi Brian. You will need to un-plug the unit. Make sure all supply wires are tight at the terminal block. Then strip the wires and use a ceramic wire nut to reconnect the igniter wires together. Ceramic wire nut is part # TJMA01164-1. Then if the igniter does not work it is part # WB2X9154. If the clock does not light up this part # is WPW10162787. Thank You. Read More...
Bryan November 22, 2011 for Model Number JGSS05GEN1BG GEXL44 What signals the safety valve to turn the gas on and off. I have 120 volts coming through the igniter, but I have no gas and no ignition. Does the gas valve sense heat from the ignitor or does the gas valve turn on the ignitor with an internal relay or what?
1 Answer Hello Bryan. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve WB19K13. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter WB2X9154 will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Bob M. November 21, 2011 for Model Number Autocrat G23Y-CW5 We have an older model double oven. The burners on the stove work and the pilot lights for both top and bottom will light, but neither oven will light. I believe I need new igniters but not sure. If so, which one of the list do I need?
1 Answer Hello Bob. The model number you provided is not working. You will need to test and see if there is power coming to the igniters. If so, replace the igniters. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Audrey November 20, 2011 for Model Number 3627132891 My Kenmore gas oven does not work....doesn't get hot....do I need to replace the igniter?
1 Answer Hello Audrey. Check and see if the igniter is glowing. If not, and there is power to it, replace the igniter WB2X9154. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
