Joe L. June 13, 2014 for Model Number JGBP32GES2AD Sorry I am asking this question for my elderly dad..he replaced the oven ignitor in this oven but cannot figure out where one of the pieces goes back in. The piece he is calling a baffel and has 4 tabs on one side and a lip at about a 45 degree angle on the other..he cannot see where it goes...HELP! Is there a Pic of this? Thanks again Joe
1 Answer Joe, The part that it sounds like you are referring to would be the deflector assembly which would sit on top of the burner assembly. It would screw to the front part of the oven assembly then the oven bottom would go into the unit. Read More...

Cindy June 05, 2014 We have a ge xl44 self cleaning gas range, the broiler does not work. A repairman came out and said we need an igniter. Is there a video on this installation? Is installing the same as the oven ingiter?
1 Answer Hello Cindy. Yes, the install is basically the same as the oven. These are not hard to replace. We do not have a video at this time. Use the oven video and you should do just fine. Read More...
Silkfur April 07, 2014 for Model Number SF387PEYB6 My Whirlpool gas oven takes over 40 minutes to preheat. I checked and I can see it glow as soon as I turn the oven on. I checked the broil and it also glowed as soon as I turned it on and then the flames came. As for the oven, I can see it glowing but then I smell gas, it takes awhile but eventually gets to the temp of 350, with occasional bursts of gas I presume. The burners on top work fine. I need to try to fix this myself, I cant afford the astronomical fees of the repairman. I have never repaired anything, but need to learn for survival at this time. :) Help!

Veronica March 17, 2014 for Model Number jgrp17wet2ww My oven is in the wall. Will I use this same video to help me install the igniter the same way?
1 Answer Hello Veronica, On a wall oven you will remove the bottom of the bake compartment to access the bake ignitor and the broil ignitor is accessed from the bake compartment also. The video is only there to give a general understanding of how the part is changed out and it varies from model to model. I have never pulled a wall oven from the cabinets to change the ignitor. Donna March 05, 2014 for Model Number hot point gas overn 317B6641p001 The stove top works but the oven doesn't heat up. I turned it to bake start, and darkened the kitchen to see if it lit up to start the ignitor, but nothing happened. I am assuming the ignitor needs to be replaced. I dont know the serial number to order correctly. Where do I find that?
1 Answer Hello Donna, The model and serial numbers are both located on the units' I.D. tag. This is usually behind the edge of the drawer panel on the face of the unit. If not, it will be around the door on the front frame of the unit. Read More...

Henry February 01, 2014 for Model Number JGBPWEA1WW Our Oven ignitor doesn't operate however our top ignitor for the broiler works. Since the broiler is functioning properly, does this mean that the safety valve is operating properly and that my oven ignitor needs replaced?
1 Answer Hello Henry. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
