Symptoms of a bad suspension rod & spring assembly include:

  • Excessive shaking or vibrating during the wash cycle

Hello Lois. You will need to check and see if the suspension is broke and if the suspension is good, check to see if the motor bracket is scraping the bottom. If so, the top apron will need to be replaced. If suspension is broke, replace the bad suspension. Also, check the hub if both are good on the unit.

Wilo, To check the springs on the rods you will push down on the unit and it should bounce back up. Also check the rods to make sure that they are in place properly and check the balance ring on top of the inner tub to make sure that it still has the solution in it. If not then replace the balance ring.

Tim for Model Number wwse5240g1ww

Washer is making banging sound when agitating. I took off front cover to find that the motor is about a 1/4" from bottom of cabinet. Motor is also moving left to right so much its hitting two metal tabs coming up from bottom of unit. I also noticed that even with the smallest load in the machine that the suspension rod springs are fully compressed is this normal? And finally the drive pulley has slop in it when going agitating you can see it and here it.

Hello John. Yes, you need to replace the apron on the unit. It does not go over it, it replaces it. Does not have to do with the rods.
