Jeff October 28, 2022 for Model Number GFE28HMHGES Where are the thermistors located on this model which has a bottom drawer freezer and upper side by side refrigerator? My food is freezing in the refrigerator section and the water outlet in the door is intermittent so I believe it freezing as well. All th videos show a side by side which doesn't help. The drawings I find do not really help either.
1 Answer Jeff, There should be a sensor located in the refrigerator under a cover on the side wall and the one in the freezer will be on the back wall. Read More...
John October 15, 2022 for Model Number ziss480drass GE Monagram 48" My unit is set at 0F freezer and 37F for the fridge. The freezer temp varies from 0F to -6F The fridge temp varies from 46F to 52F Does this unit have a thermistor on the evaporator coil that could be causing this problem? If not what else could cause the problem?
1 Answer John, Thanks for the question!!! The evaporator sensor would not affect the fridge temp without affecting the freezer. The is a temp sensor for the fridge compartment. It should be located on the side wall of the fridge compartment, under a little football-shaped grill cover. This is the most likely issue as it tells the damper when to open and close. Read More...
Charles October 14, 2022 for Model Number GE GNS23GMHBFES I replaced the temperature sensor in the freezer of my GE model GNS23gmhbfes. 12 hours later the freezer is back to -9f but the refrigerator is not cooling at all. Staying at 57f. It had been working fine. This seems like something other than a sensor as it is not doing anything. Advice?
1 Answer Charles, Thanks for the question!!! Sounds like a possible airflow or defrost issue (which is still airflow). Here is a video that should help with troubleshooting: https://youtu.be/fFNi50tdeto Read More...
Ron September 28, 2022 for Model Number ZIC360NRHRH The freezer compartment is not defrosting. After totally thawing out the refrigerator for a couple of days, the refrigerator works fine. But in couple of weeks, it sometimes goes down to -20 in the freezer and 50 in the upper part. Ice then builds up in the freezer. I have 2 new temperature sensors, but how do I find where to replace them. This model has a lower freezer compartment so the video does not show where the sensors are.
1 Answer Ron, there will be one cavity thermistor WR55X10025 at the back panel near the ice maker in the freezer, and one in the refrigerator section at the back left near the lower crisper drawer. Read More...
Gary B September 26, 2022 for Model Number TFX26KPDAAA I want to install thermister p/n WR55X10025 on my refrigerator but mine looks like it has two separate probes with one white wire going to each one. Do I cut these probes off & attach WR55X10025 to these two wires?
1 Answer Gary, This unit does not use a temperature sensor and is operated by an operating thermostat. This part will not work for this unit. Read More...
Chuck September 25, 2022 for Model Number GNS23GMHBFES My freezer warms up too much on the defrost cycle. The indicator shows is ranging between -5 and 7 degrees but I think it is getting much warmer than that. The ice melts and refreshes with water in the bottom of the ice tray. Ice cream is often very soft. Would replacing the freezer compartment temperature sensor fix this? Could frost or ice on the sensor be a problem and if so would unplugging the machine for a couple of days help?
1 Answer Chuck, This unit has a sensor on the evaporator coil. This sensor would be the most common reason for the unit to stay in defrost too long and if the sensor does not correct the issue then the control board would be the issue. The sensor is part number {AP3185407]. Read More...
Jim September 23, 2022 for Model Number GNE25JGKFFWW My GE refrigerator/freezer (less than 5 years old) stopped cooling entirely in both compartments. I can hear motor (fan?) running periodically, but there is no change in temperature, which remains at room temp. Is rebooting an option by turning off power for a period of time? or any apparent possible source of the problem? Thanks
1 Answer Jim, it is possible a reboot could help but not very likely. Here is a link for some troubleshooting videos: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKhohqC7zc-SsDVtlgN2XNbvIMZKpuQ4b Read More...
Ricky August 07, 2022 for Model Number GSH25JFRFWW I have to put both temperature knobs on 9, the highest setting, in order to keep the temperature at the optimal settings. The freezer is 0 degrees F and the refrigerator is 40 degrees F. Adjustments can be made independently and will affect the temperature for each side. Is this normal or should the temperature be able to go lower? Currently it is at its max cold settings. Will changing the temperature sensor(s) increase the cooling range? My other refrigerator will maintain these temperatures while set at the #6 control setting. I have thoroughly cleaned the inside, out and underneath, so dust and crud are not the issue. It is like the sensor(s) are not in sync with the thermostat dials. What are your thoughts on this problem?
1 Answer Ricky, Based on the information provided I would suggest checking the sensors for the resistance value using a multimeter. The correct resistance rating is listed in the tech sheet supplied with your machine. Read More...
Bart June 20, 2022 for Model Number GSF25JGCBWW my refrigerator is building up ice on the bottom of the freezer section, and water is not draining through the drain tube (part 225) which is also filled with ice. The evaporator coils also have frost on them.
1 Answer Bart, You will need to clear out any ice in the drain trough and floor and then flush the drain with hot water to clear the drain line. Read More...
Poppa May 20, 2022 for Model Number A4425GDTA WW refrigerator side is good, freezer side seems too warm and it's on the coldest setting. will a temperature sensor fix that. replaced the master control panel a couple months ago when the whole unit shut down. this was a problem before that and was hoping the new control panel would fix it.it didn't so i'm wondering if a new temperature sensor will. please get back to me with an answer to the email listed thank you
1 Answer Hello Poppa, If you look at the frost pattern I'm sure you will not have an even frost pattern on the evaporator coils. I'm sorry but this issue sounds like you need to contact a Freon certified technician to diagnose and correct a sealed system issue. Read More...
