Johnny W. March 29, 2012 for Model Number GE TFX26PP Water is leaking where the hose goes into the black fitting pictured above. I pushed it in and pulled on it but it still leaks though it is secure. Is this common? Suggestions?
1 Answer Hello Johnny, Try cutting off about 1/4 of an inch of the line. If the line has an indentation where it was installed before, it will not seal in a John Guess fitting. If this doesn't correct the seal, the valve will have to be replaced. Read More...
Pat February 19, 2012 for Model Number TPX24BRDA BB Ice Maker makes small or hollow cubes an leaks water (overnight or overtime)that appears to be coming from the water/ice dispenser area when the feeler arm is on the ON position. Reading my manual under troubleshooting it suggests a clogged filter. However, when looking up changing filter it suggests a filter is not on ALL models which my model appears NOT to have a filter. What may be causing this issue and what may be the repair?
1 Answer Hello Pat. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the water valve WR57X10024 is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. Hope this helps. Read More...
John B. October 31, 2011 for Model Number TFS28PPDA GE Refrigerator After replacing the water filter, the water dispensor worked for a few minutes. Now little or no water flows to the dispensor or ice maker. I can hear the valves hum. Putting in the filter bypass did not help. Is there water line screen somewhere that can be cleaned out? My theory is the higher water flow from the new filter dislodged sediment that clogged the screen.
1 Answer Hello John. Unhook the water line from the bottom of the freezer door. Press the dispenser and see if the water comes out there. If so, the door is frozen and will need to be thawed out to repair the unit. Hope this helps. Read More...
Dick September 22, 2011 for Model Number GE Profile TFX28PBDAWW Ice is blocking fill tube in ice maker for GE Profile TFX28PBDAWW; the cold water tap works fine. From previous questions, it appears that I need to replace the water valve. Question is which one, or both since there are two listed; and either way, how do I access the valve(s); they appear to be buried alongside the compressor. Thanks!
1 Answer Hi Dick. Remove power. Remove the units back. The water valve mount bracket is held in place with a 1/4" screw. The tubing is both , 1/4 " and 5/16". The water supply cannot be kinked while pushing back into place. The fill tube will twist 1/4 -turn and pull out from the back. Rinse under the sink and dry tube completely with a blow dryer. The water valve is part # WR57X10024. Use a coil cleaning brush to clean the condenser coils with while you are behind the unit. This part # is TJ103. Thank you. Read More...
Ed H. September 21, 2011 for Model Number TFX28PPDB WW I have a delay of about twenty seconds when I press the button to get water. This is the same problem as described in a previous question. There is no coughing or sputtering so I don't think there is any air in the line. I have removed the filter and put in the bypass plug which didn't help. I have replaced the water valve part AP2071736 per your suggestion and that also made no difference. The stream is strong and steady once it starts. You hear a low buzz when you first press the button which becomes louder just before the water starts. It seems to work perfectly except for the long delay before releasing any water. What should I look at next?
1 Answer Hello Ed. You may need to replace the other water valve WR57X10022 on the unit. This model has a total of three water valves. Based on the information you provided, that is the only thing it could be. Hope this helps. Read More...
Ed September 07, 2011 for Model Number TFX28PPDBWW When I press the water dispenser, it takes 20 seconds for the water to appear. It used to happen instantly. I can hear the buzz when I press it that gets louder just before the water begins. Once it starts, the water flow is steady and normal. There is no coughing or sputtering like air in the line, just the delay. The ice maker works fine. Is the valve bad?
1 Answer Hi Ed. Per your explaination, it is true you need a water valve part # is WR57X10024. Thank you. Read More...
Paul August 15, 2011 for Model Number tps24bpdabs My ice machine isn't getting water. I can hear it "call" for water when the timer activates, and if I manually add water, everything works fine. I have checked for frozen fill tube and crimped lines. Do I need to replace the pump? Is there a separate pump for ice machine and water dispensor? Could it be a capacitor or relay switch of some kind instead? Thanks, Paul
1 Answer Hello Paul. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the water valve WR57X10023 is bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps. Read More...
Ralph July 30, 2011 for Model Number tfs28ppbebs I had to replace a section of water line hose that connects into AP2071736, as it had melted being up against the compressor. In trying to fix it, the hose end came out and the connecting "sleeve" where it joins into the valve assembly broke. How do I replace the sleeve, and reconnect the hose? In an earlier "QUESTION" on the website it stated to simply "press in on the plastic fittings and the water lines will pull out". Where and how am I supposed to PRESS IN ?, and does the sleeve come out with the hose? Thanks.
1 Answer Ralph, If the plastic compression sleeve around the water tube on the fill valve is broken, you will need to replace the fill valve WR57X10024 Using the diagram/ picture of the part, the two white rings and the gray ring are the compression sleeves, theres only a 32nd or 16 inch movement in the up/down direction and you need to press down on the sleeve to install or remove the water tube out the valve body. Good Luck and Thanks. or th Read More...
Michael July 21, 2011 for Model Number psc23mgma ww I need to replace this water valve. How do I disconnect the hoses then reconnect to the new one?

Ellen June 13, 2011 for Model Number AT224187, tfx25zpbeww I have replaced the water valve for the icemaker due to it leaking. I took pictures of where the hoses should hook back up to. However my son deleted the images before I returned with the part on accident. My question is would you have an image of where the water fill line hoses should go back to? Do they only go back in one place due to the size of the fitting or what?
1 Answer Hello Ellen! We do not have the direct information regarding the installation. However, usually the water supply line from the faucet is inserted into the gray colored ring on the bottom of the valve opening. The red solenoid is for the water dispenser The blue solenoid is for the icemaker. Hope this helps! Read More...
