Stephen February 13, 2019 for Model Number WM3987HW Model number - WM3987HW I have to replace the pump about every 4 months, due to the shaft breaking ( have 6 broken pumps). This new pump locks up the control panel when it is plugged in. Unplugging the pump wire and the control panel works. Pump is defective/ failed bench test Is there another issue or something else that needs to be done?
1 Answer Stephen, If the pump is defective on arrival you will want to call customer service at 877-477-7278. For the shaft breaking sounds like something getting caught in the pump assembly. Read More...
Spence October 15, 2018 for Model Number WM3997HWA I was having a drainage issue, took the machine apart, followed the video, and am now stuck with two what I assume are drainage hoses that have to be re-attached to the pump module, and there are two spots to do so, but I did not pay attention when removing them. One hose has blue on it and one hose has red on it. I'm not sure which goes in which hole.
1 Answer Spence, From the tub the tube goes into the top hole. And the other tube exits the machine. Read More...
Viktor August 11, 2018 for Model Number WM26881HNM does this drain pump work for LG WM26881HNM washer?
Rachel August 07, 2018 for Model Number WM2301HW Your video was GREAT and I've hooked up my new drain motor pump (washing machine wouldn't drain and was making a loud whirring noise). However, when I was taking out the old pump I noticed that my washing machine did not have the recirculation pipe at all. The hole is there where you say to disconnect and reconnect, but there is not one in my washing machine. Is that normal?
1 Answer Rachel, On some units there would not be a recirculation pump on the unit which this one appears to not have. Read More...
Don L May 20, 2018 for Model Number 3091ER0004K-601-00022-00-8 How do I clean out the drain level of the drum?
1 Answer Don, The only way to clean the drain level of the drum would be to disassemble the unit to clean the inner drum. If you need to clean the filter on the drain pump then there would be a access door that you open and then unscrew the filter and pull it out. Read More...
Ray April 26, 2018 for Model Number WM3875HVCA I have noticed that no matter how many times I rinse clothes there are still suds/soap bubbles every time fresh water is added during the rinse like more soap has been added. We have always used the same amount of detergent and this happens even when adding only 1 tablespoon of detergent. I have checked for blockages in all of the tubing connected to drum/pumps. There is no blockage in the filter. The water drains from the tub and there are no error codes being shown. I have rinsed some clothes 5-6 times and every time water is added it looks like more soap has been added. Detergent dispenser is empty/clean. After a rinse, you can open the filter housing and see a lot of suds in there as well. Could this be a bad/failing pump?
1 Answer Hello Ray, This is most likely a soap build up in the outer tub after years of excessive soap has been put into the unit. You should run a sanitation cycle with hot water and white vinegar to attempt cleaning out the residue from the parts of the unit not reachable without a teardown. Read More...
Kelli April 21, 2018 for Model Number WM2010CW It appears we have a problem with our drain pump. Washer works but does not drain water. I’ve been reading we need to check for 120 going to the pump to make sure it’s not electrical problem. How exactly do we do this? Do we need to run a wash cycle?
1 Answer Kelli, If you put the unit into a drain and spin then you can test the pump for 120 vac. If there is power but not pumping then this will be a faulty pump and if no power then the main board. Read More...
Michael March 13, 2018 for Model Number Wm2487h*ma Hi. Two questions. First, my manual has a “*” instead of an “m” in the model number. I assume that’s still the same machine and this part will work? Second, I only get an “oe” error message intermittently. The drain tube doesn’t appear to be clogged and neither does the drain pipe. I’d say it drains without an issue 50% of the time. Would you still guess that the pump should be replaced or could this be some other issue? Thanks!
1 Answer Michael, You will want to check the power getting to the drain pump when it is supposed drain. If there is intermittent power then check the wiring to make sure that the wiring is good and if the wiring checks ok with intermittent operation then it would be more likely the board that is the issue.
