The Lint Filter is an OEM part for LG dryers. It is responsible for capturing lint and debris from the laundry, preventing it from clogging the dryer vent and providing easy cleaning. A bad lint filter can be caused by regular use and the accumulation of lint and debris over time. It may also become damaged if not cleaned regularly or if items such as coins or small objects accidentally get caught in the filter. Measures: about 12 in wide by 11 in high

Causes of a lint filter can include normal wear and tear over time, excessive lint buildup or clogging, or physical damage due to improper cleaning or handling.

Symptoms of a bad lint filter include:

  • Clothes taking longer than usual to dry.
  • Reduced airflow or poor drying efficiency.
  • Lint accumulating on the dryer drum or around the door.

This OEM LG part can also be used on Kenmore/Sears appliances.

Note: If your filter won't seat all the way down in the housing, order filter ADQ56656403. Due to manufacturer changes, in some cases, the filter guide MEA49050001 and filter cover MCK66787901 may also need to be replaced.

For Lg Lint Filter (Part Number: OEM13371741)

Cyndy_Beckert@Yahoo.Com

why is it that since I bought my Kenmore Elite Dryer the lint filter was too big on the top and catches my clothes and ties them in circular knots and runs my clothes, ie. pillowcases, sheets, silk and rayon shirts, underwear and etc. I am so upset with the stinking dryer filter ruining my clothes. We paid alot of money for the dryer and expect great performance and it is terrible. I will try another filter, but if the thing does the same thing I will give the appliance a zero rating in performance.

Cyndy, If the lint filter is not going all the way into the unit then it is possible there is something blocking it causing the filter to not seat fully.
