The Ice Maker Cooling Fan Assembly is an OEM replacement part for LG refrigerators. The purpose of this component is to circulate the air that goes into the ice compartment so that the water freezes in the ice maker to make the ice. It also runs intermittently to ensure the ice that has been made remains frozen.

Causes of a bad cooling fan assembly can include failure of the electric motor or fan blade over time due to prolonged use. Bearing wear is also common with extended operation of moving parts like the fan blade.

Symptoms of a bad cooling fan assembly include:

  • Inconsistent or infrequent ice production
  • Warm spots developing within the freezer compartment
  • Vibrations, rubbing, or grinding noises from the fan motor area
  • Inefficient freezing of items stored in the freezer

Replace yours today with this genuine OEM LG cooling fan assembly to restore optimized temperature control.

This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore refrigerators.

For Lg Ice Maker Cooling Fan Assembly (Part Number: OEM13320639)

Dan for Model Number lfx25960st

My ice maker has been going in and out for some time. It has an error code (Er If). Some times the code goes away and it works. When I pulled the back inside cover of the freeze off, exposing both the evaporator fan and the (duct assembly connector, which also has a built in fan) there was some ice on the upper right side of the evaporator. I did notice that the duct assembly connector was cutting on and off about every 15-20 sec (part number ap4440210). The frig and freezer both stay cold. Please advise.

Dan, With getting the ER If error code it is an indicator that the ice fan is not working. If it is coming on intermittently then you will want to test the control board for 12 vdc to the fan. If there is 12vdc constant to the fan then the motor 5209JA1044A.

David Vaughn for Model Number LMX 25984 ST

My LG LMX 25984 ST refreg has an ER IF or 1F. When researching it appears the icemaker fan if not working. The lower freezer and upper refreg are getting cold, just not the icemaker. I can feel air cold air coming out of the damper in the refeg when I have the unite in test mode 1, but no air coming out of the ports where the ice maker receives its cold air. I have read that it could be the fan or the control board. I have also read that it maybe the connector on the icemaker fan motor. What part would you recommend to replace first. Do I need the fan motor or the Duct Assembly part number AP4440210? Or do you recommend a different part to replace.

Hello David, The icefan duct assembly 5209JA1044A is the most likely culprit but before ordering you would want to remove it to make sure that there is just no ice causing it to not rotate.

Hi Ralph. Check the fan connector and see if it is fully making contact. If it is frozen, then this will cause the issue. The new fan has another connector style made into it to prevent this . Part # 5209JA1044A. At the main board, check the fan motor voltage. At conn.4 on pins 1 and 2 if the voltage is below 9v change the power control board part # EBR34917104. Check at pins 2 and 3 if it is 0 or 5 v , change the motor. Thank You.
