The Hi Limit Thermal Fuse is an OEM part for LG dryers. This fuse is a safety device that protects the dryer from overheating by cutting off power to the heating element if the dryer’s temperature exceeds a safe limit. It ensures that the dryer operates within safe temperature ranges, preventing potential fire hazards.

Replace the hi limit thermal fuse if it becomes faulty due to wear and tear, a buildup of lint, or exposure to high temperatures over time. A malfunctioning fuse can compromise the dryer’s ability to regulate heat properly.

Symptoms of a bad hi limit thermal fuse include:

  • The dryer not heating
  • The dryer shutting off unexpectedly during a cycle
  • No response from the dryer when attempting to start a cycle
  • Extended drying times due to lack of heat

This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore models.

Hello Linda. If the dryer is heating, It sounds like the venting system is clogged or kinked. You will need to check the vent and clean it out. Be sure and clean the vent pipe and the dryer air duct assembly. If the air flow is not good, the unit will retain moist air causing the clothes not to dry. Try running the unit with the vent unhooked from the back of the dryer and see if the dryer works properly.

Timothy for Model Number DLEO332W

I recently replaced the hi limit thermostat AP4440975 after my dryer stopped heating the clothes and it started working fine again. But now 6 months later I'm experiencing the same problem. I don't want to replace this part every 6 months is there something else that could be deteriorating the life of this part? There are no clogs and everything is clean because I just cleaned it all out 6 months ago. Are there other parts that should be replaced also? The unit is 9 years old.
