Steve October 23, 2011 for Model Number LG-WM1832CW Washing machine will fill with only a trickle of water like its straining and no code comes up. I checked hoses and screens and all is good.
1 Answer Hello Steve. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the water valve 5220FR2008C is bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps. Read More...
Ljsciortino July 08, 2011 for Model Number WM1832CW OK - It's not the drain hose siphoning back water from the drain as I have taken that out completely, and the inlet filters have been cleaned, but I am still getting water in the tub after the cycle ends - about a gallon every 12 hours. I know that the hot water wall valve does not shut off 100% (though the cold seems to) so is it reasonable to assume that the problem is with the hot water valve assembly inlet in the machine? One more thing - are there 4 solenoids on the cold water valve assembly because I have 4 compartments in the dispenser? Really don't want to buy more parts than I need so would it be a good idea to try to switch around the hoses and see if it still seeps back to determine which valve assembly needs replacing? Thank for all your wonderful help and patience.
1 Answer Ljsciortino, You're on the right track, And your deductions are pretty good. Yes, the cold water inlet valve has 4 outlets, one for each dispenser compartment. and the hot water inlet has one(1). You most likely have a "seaping" fill valve, Turn onre of the faucets Off then the other after a day or so, to determine which is bad and replace the appropriate valve. Ljsciortino June 30, 2011 for Model Number WM1832CW Is it possible that a heavily clogged connection where the hot water comes in the machine could be the reason why water was seeping back into the tub even after a cycle ended?
1 Answer Hello Ljsciortino. Yes, it is possible that the pressure was low enough to cause the valve 5220FR2008C to seep water back into the machine. Hope this helps. Read More...
Kris M. June 28, 2011 for Model Number wm1832 My pre-wash flows water, but my main wash only flows cold water no hot. I am not getting any error codes. The valves test at the correct resistance. Would this be a valve problem or a board problem?
1 Answer Hello Kris. This model uses a heater and a thermister 6322FR2046C to determine water temperature. It brings in cold water to fill the tub, but turns on the heater to heat the water up for a hot wash cycle. The valves work different chambers on the dispenser, so cold will come in on a hot cycle to empty the dispenser. Hope this helps. Read More...
Ljsciortino June 16, 2011 for Model Number LG WM1832CW OK - thought the drain hose too far down the drain pipe was siphoning up water back into the machine so I brought it up, but a few hours later there was water in the tub again. Took the drain hose out of the pipe altogether and turned the water off at the wall. By morning there was more water in the tub. Any suggestions? One friend suggested perhaps the wall valves are still allowing water to enter the hoses (old house) and the intake valves are failing to stop it. Could it be anything else? This is getting old!
1 Answer Hello ljsciortino. Remove the hose from the shut off in the wall and see if the shut offs are not working properly. If so, you will need to see which one is not turning off, and that will be the valve you will need to replace. Hope this helps. Read More...
Ljsciortino June 14, 2011 for Model Number wm1832cw I recently shoved the drain hose about 4-6 inches further down in the drain pipe - no reason just extra play in the hose from the machine. Could that be the issue and I simply need to bring it back up again?
1 Answer Hello ljsciortino. Yes, that could be the problem with the machine. Hope this helps. Read More...
Ljsciortino June 14, 2011 for Model Number LG WM1832CW How do I check to see if the drain hose is siphoning water back into the tub?
1 Answer Hello Ljsciortino. If both water connections, cold and hot, are turned off at the same time, then the water has to be coming from the drain hose. There is no way for water to enter through the water valves if the water is turned off. Hope this helps. Read More...
Ljsciortino June 13, 2011 for Model Number LG WM1832CW How do I determine which water valve (hot or cold) is malfunctioning? My hot water comes from a tankless water heater and therefore takes a little time to heat and requires more pressure than what a slow over-fill uses. I have turned off the water from the wall for hot & cold and the washer still fills when off. Is this a fix that someone who is pretty handy can handle or does it require a service technician?
1 Answer Hello Ljsciortino. If the washer is filling with both the hot and the cold turned off, you will need to check and see if the drain hose is siphoning water back into the machine through the drain hose. Hope this helps. Read More...
Ljs June 12, 2011 for Model Number WM1832CW LG washer Is part #AP4441122 (valve assembly, inlet with four plugs) for hot water or cold water or is part #AP4441935 (valve assembly, inlet with one plug) for hot water or cold water? Got a FE error code which suggests over-fill in tub and a water valve malfunction. Since the tub fills again with cold water after the cycle is complete, I believe the issue is with the cold water valve, thus the question.
1 Answer Hello LJS! The cold water inlet valve is part number 5220FR2008C. The hot water inlet valve is part number 5220FR2006H. Thanks! Read More...
