Franco, If unable to break the bolts free then you would want to either use an impact drill to remove or drill the heads off and drill out the bolts.

The thing works washes well drum looks straight We hen I move the drum rapidly against its shocks springs it feels pretty suspended. When it spins as it reaches hi speed the drum still looks straight aligned with gasket etc but it makes a noise that's with the speed and a flapper on rear of dryer constantly flaps back n forth and make a funny flap flap at speed drums turning this is all only on spin. The spider just don't seem wobbly I've seen worse working like new . I mite believe a possible build up problem.

Tom. Check to make sure the drain pump is operating properly, the drain hoses, especially from the tub to pump aren't twisted, kinked or clogged/restricted, then replace the DC97-08740E / DC97-08740E Cap.

Rick, With the unit working through out the unit but stopping at the 35 min mark then this will be a faulty main control board that will cause this issue.

Thanks for all the great videos! I've changed my shocks, assembly flange (spider), and door boot. It's all back together and running well. Here's my question. In doing some more research, I found some video claiming that the type of medal or alloy used to construct the spider is inferior. It claimed that b/c it's an alloy, attached to a stainless steal drum with the introduction of electrolytes (i.e. soap suds), this part will continue to corrode over time. (Also, b/c it's not a mechanical failure, it doesn't fall under the 10 yr warranty.) Is that true? Does your site show the type of metals used in the different parts in case I research a new machine. Thanks!

1 Answer

Lin, The spider would not be considered as part of the 10 yr warranty from the manufacturer because it can be gotten separate from the tub assembly. As for the detergent causing the alloy to deteriorate it is possible this is the case when using too much detergent for the laundry. Unfortunately we do not have material types on our site for what things are made of.
