Bobby, you may want to test the ignitor DG94-00520A for resistance. The ignitor should read between 40 to 400 ohms at room temperature. If the resistance tests good, then the most likely issue is going to be the safety valve DG94-00449A.

Frank, The manufacturer list the igniter of having a resistance between 40 and 400 ohms so you should be good. And no that would not hurt the control anyway.

Hello Christina, the symptom does point to a weak bake burner igniter part DG94-00520A. It can be tested with an amprobe and it should draw 3.2-3.6 amps in use. When the igniter gets weak over time it does not draw enough current to open the gas valve.

Gary, you can test the control to see if it sends 120VAC to the ignitors when turned on. If the unit is set to bake, it should send 120VAC from the bake relay to the ignitor and similar from the broil relay to the broil ignitor. If it does not send 120VAC to the ignitor, then the main control [DE92-02588J] is the issue. If it does send 120VAC to the ignitors, then the ignitors could be the issue.

R Parker, when you turn the broil igniter on, does the igniter glow? If it doesn't, check for 120 volts going to the igniter. If you have voltage, replace the igniter, if no voltage, replace the main control board. If it glows but does not open the gas valve, check the safety valve. Turn on the broil circuit, check for 3.2-3.6 volts ac at the safety valve, you will be checking the red wire, and the white neutral wire. If the proper voltage is there, replace the safety valve, it voltage is not correct, replace the element. DG94-00520A

Frank, the igniter is going to remain glowing orange while the gas is on because the igniter is what supplies the voltage to the gas valve to allow gas through to the bake and broil burners. When voltage stops going from the control to the igniter, that voltage coursing through the igniter no longer reaches the gas valve and this is what causes the gas to stop flowing to the burners.

Doug, The correct igniter for your oven will be part number DG94-01012A. If this igniter has a connector on it you could just cut the connector off and use ceramic wire nuts to splice the wires together.

Doug, Check to make sure that you are getting 120 vac to the igniter and if you are but it does not come on then the igniter is faulty and will need replaced.
