Mustafa August 16, 2018 for Model Number NX58H9500WS/AA My over takes a long time to pre-heat and never reaches 450 plus. When I turn on the bake, the igniter takes about a minute to turn on the flame. Flame turns on full initially (for around 5s) and then goes down to 1/3 the size and starts to swing like going off and on but does stay on at very low flame. The bake ignitee resistance reading is at 190ohms and the broil ingiter reads 138 ohms. Broil seems to work fine. I'm suspecting the igniter but want to be sure before attempting the replace it. Thank you.
1 Answer Mustafa, Since the top burners and broil burner work OK, it's not likely a gas flow issue. You most likely have a weak bake burner igniter DG94-01012A/DG94-01012A Range Bake Igniter. A weak igniter can cause delayed ignition, and extend the cooking/heating times, as you described. You can check the resistance of the igniter with a multi meter, it should have a resistance of 40 to 400 O. You can also check for a 3.2 to 3.6 amp draw with a "clamp on ammeter" or 3.2 to 3.6 VAC across the safety valve terminals while the oven igniter is glowing. Read More...
Ralph August 13, 2018 for Model Number Samsung NX58F57700WS Oven takes a long time, up to 45 minutes to reach temperature. The igniter glows orange and starts the flame, but when I took the cover off , I noticed the flames whooshes on and off even before it reaches temperature.
1 Answer Ralph, Possible issue with your safety valve.Check for 3.3 to 3.6 amps with an amp meter If not correct replace safety valve part # DG94-00449A. Read More...
Thomas June 30, 2018 for Model Number NX58H5650WS/AA-0000 How to I check if the Hot Surface Igniter is bad or not? Can I use an ohm meter on it?
1 Answer Thomas, Yes, you can use a multi meter to test the the hot surface igniter for voltage, You'll need to trace the igniter wires back to the oven safety valve, place or attach the meter leads to the bake valve terminals and turn the oven on to a bake selection and temperature. You should have a reading of 3.2 to 3.6 VAC across the two(2) wires, if not the igniter is weak and needs to be replaced. Another method would be to use a "clamp on" ammeter, basically access the igniter, program a bake cycle and temperature, open the meter clamp and place it around one of the igniter wires,. As the igniter glows, the meter should have a reading of 3.2 to 3.6 amps. If not the igniter is weak and needs to be replaced. Just Be Very Careful, these are "LIVE" Voltage checks, and the area can get HOT , so be very careful. Thanks, Read More...
Sam December 07, 2017 for Model Number nx58f5500ss My oven no longer will heat up on Bake. The broiler works but bake will not heat at all. We figured it was the bake igniter but We took it apart and the igniter is not GLOWING at all. What else could stop the bake function from working but broiler still works?
1 Answer Sam, With the igniter not glowing then you will want to test to see if the igniter is getting 120 vac to it. If there is then the igniter would be the issue. If there is not 120 vac to the igniter then the issue will be a faulty main control board. Read More...
John Smith July 26, 2017 for Model Number NX58J7750SS/AA My oven heats up to the set temperature, say 400F, then (often) slowly cools off. Example I set it to bake at 400F to cook potatoes. Only after 20 minutes I notice that they are not browning well. When I open the oven I can feel that it is not at 400F, it is cooler than that. The digital thermometer on the dashboard however shows 400F. So I turn the oven off), and back on again. Set the temperature to 400F again, then it shows that the oven is 320F. Then it slowly warms up to that temperature again. I have only noticed this for the upper oven, not the lower oven.
1 Answer John, You will want to test the oven sensor on the unit. You will want to check at room temp for a resistance of 1090 ohms. If the resistance is good you can test it at 400 degrees and the resistance should be 1736 ohms. If the resistance is not correct replace the sensor. If it checks ok then the main board will be the issue. Read More...
John June 18, 2017 for Model Number Samsung NX58H9500WS/AA The igniter for main oven glows and the gas is ignited after a couple of mins and the oven heats up but takes a long time. The resistance of the igniter reads 33 ohms is that too low? Also, I'm seeing different part numbers for a replacement igniter; DG94-01012A and DG94-00520A. Please advise if I'm on the right track with the igniter replacement and confirm the correct part number if so. Thanks.
1 Answer John, The igniter sounds like it is working properly on your unit. You will want to check the oven sensor to make sure that the sensor has a resistance at room temp of 1090 ohms. If this checks ok then it is likely that the oven safety valve is faulty. There are coils inside the valve that open the valve and they may be causing the valve to close prematurely therefore causing the longer heating times. Read More...
Paul January 21, 2017 for Model Number FX710BGS/XAA Our Samsung oven gives an E08 error in both normal and convection mode. I see no glow from the igniter in the bottom burner unit. The broiler igniter does glow and lights normally. I assume this means the temperature sensor is probably OK and that the bottom oven igniter is faulty. Is this good logic? Please verify that AP5577941 is the correct part number for the igniter. Thank you
1 Answer Hello Paul, This does seem to be "good logic" since the broil ignitor would not glow if there were a sensor issue. The bake ignitor part number is DG94-00520A. Read More...
Alecia July 27, 2016 for Model Number NX58H9500WS My oven is not heating at all. Is this igniter compatible with model NX58H9500WS. Also I keep seeing something about a red glowing light to check to see if the igniter is the problem. I don't see any lights on my igniter at all. Am I missing something?
1 Answer Alecia, The part number for the surface element is DG94-01012A and you would want to test to see if there is 120 vac getting to the igniter. If there is then the igniter is faulty and would need to be replaced. Read More...
Phil B March 16, 2016 for Model Number NX58F5500SS/AA-0000 Hello - I am guessing form my online research that I need a new glow igniter. The question is that it appears to be sautered to the gas burner pole. How do I get it off and replace just the igniter??
Dick December 21, 2015 for Model Number fx510bgs Samsung gas oven gives an E-08 error message and does not ignite, although there is a glow below that I can see through bottom slots for heat to rise. What part to check? Previously after an E-08 message I would restart and it would start. Seems to not want to do that now. Help, please.
1 Answer Hello Dick. The ignitor may be weak and need to be replaced. The error is for oven not heating. 1. Disconnect power. Open the back cover. Disconnect the two harness connectors to the oven temperature sensor. Measure sensor resistance :1080O at the room temperature ? If different value, replace oven sensor. 2. Check the broil, bake and convection heater. Check the resistance of each. 3. Check whether DLB of sub PCB, Broil, Bake and Convection heater relay are being activated 4. Check wiring harnesses between main PCB. 5. Check the resistance of oven sensor connector on main PCB. (Normal : 1080O) Read More...
