For Samsung Washer Control Board Assembly (Part Number: OEM16871400)

Tim for Model Number WA400PJHDWR/AA

The water pump comes on without pressing any buttons. When you start a cycle the pump comes on, water runs out as fast as it comes in. The washer starts a cycle without pushing the start button. When you press power the display lights up, the water pump runs without pressing the start button. This machine has the new pump kit installed because the other pump broke off, this problem began after new pump was installed. Is the control board bad, or is their something else I need to look at?

1 Answer

Tim, based on the information provided, there could be either a water level sensor DC96-01703C issue or a main control DC92-01021B issue. The sensor can be tested for frequency with the tub empty and from the blue wire (with red probe of meter) to the orange wire (with the black probe) the frequency should read 26.4 KHz. If the frequency checks good, then the main control has failed. If the frequency does not check good, then the pressure sensor may be causing the main control to activate the drain pump.

Hello Joe, If the unit is properly leveled and there is no issue with the suspension, you should check the motor rotor for cracks in the magnets and any damage to the windings. If nothing is found, there could be an issue with the Rotor Position Sensor DC31-00153A, the harness DC93-00312B, or the control DC92-01021B.

My washing machine gave a ND code, no drain... I emptied the water, took apart the drain hoses, and drain pump. There was no debris. tested drain pump seems to work sometimes in test mode, I can hear it but water does not always drain. tried a load of wash 3 times, 1st load was fine. 2nd load had to empty water again manually, but his time the water level was incredibly high. to the point I thought its going to over flow, the weight was too much for the washer to move in wash cycle. Third time, washed normally, then went into spin cycle for a REALLY long time. In fact the timer went up in time after 20 min of spinning I turned it off restarted again and water went to high. Is this most likely a control board, drain pump, or water pressure level sensor, any thoughts?

1 Answer

BH, you may want to test the resistance of the drain pump motor as it should read between 13.5 to 16.5 ohms. Another thing to check for would be making sure that the drain pump impeller is in good condition. If the drain pump has an improper resistance or an impeller that is slipping, this can cause partial drains which would result in high water volume inside of the tub. You may also want to check the pressure sensor hose for any clogs as this can cause high water volume as well.

Mike, more than likely there is a key that is sticking or the main control is faulty. If you can press each of the keys and they engage, then you would look towards the main control [DC92-01021B] being the issue. If you press the keys and some of them do not engage intermittently, then the user interface control [DC92-01022B] is bad.

Michael, For this issue, we are not showing a UC28 code and it would be recommended to double check the error code. This could be a door lock issue or could be a issue with the motor or control board.

William Devivo for Model Number WA422PRHDWR/AA-0001 (2013 model purchase)

My washer won't complete a cycle or finish washing. The count down timer reaches 17 minutes and cycles back to 23 minutes continuously. After 2 hours I turn off the machine, unplug it, and wait. Then I reset the machine to SPIN (spin only), it refills with water, then goes thru another wash cycle, but doesn't drain or spin. I have replaced both the control module AND the main control board with no positive effect. what next.

1 Answer

William, It would be recommended to get the tech sheet and see if there are any error codes that are stored. This sounds like it may be a rps sensor error or something with the rotor and stator on the unit.

MC, For this issue of the unit not powering up would most likely be caused by a main control board issue.
