Questions & Answers

For Samsung Range Oven Temperature Sensor (Part Number: OEM13029639)

1 Answer

Lisa, if the warning is for an overheated oven, the temperature sensor DG32-00002B can be tested for resistance after unplugging the power cord. The temperature sensor should measure around 1100 Ohms at room temperature if it is in good condition. If the sensor passes testing, the main control DG94-04041C would be the likely cause of failure.

Phil for Model Number FER300SB/XAA

Oven (Samsung FER300SB/XAA) will not hold temp. The longer the oven runs the lower the temp gets in oven. Last bake was 350 for 30 minutes, it took 2 hour and still not baked and temp in oven went as low as 225? Oven will go to requested temperature but than falls drastically. Was set at 375, which it was not at, Then I moved it to 400. Temperature rose to 384, stayed there for about 3 minutes, rose to 400. Within 30 minutes oven was back to 250. Thanks for any help you might offer. I wondered if it is the sensor or the control board.

Phil, the temperature sensor DG32-00002B can be tested to identify if it is the cause of failure or if it is the control DE92-03045B (part has been discontinued by the manufacturer). The temperature sensor can be tested for resistance and should measure about 1100 Ohms at room temperature. It should then increase 2 Ohms for every 1°F that it warms up. If the sensor tests good, and the hi-limit thermostat DE47-20037A does not trip, the control would be the cause of failure.

Shlomit, The temp sensor can be tested for 1090 ohms of resistance at room temp. Check and see if the ignitor glows when bake is selected. The voltage supply is 120 VAC to the ignitor. If no voltage then replace the control. Igniter has a resistance of 50-450. If all this checks good then replace the valve.

Howard B., Start by checking to see if the ignitor is glowing, if not does it have power to it?

Richard, You can check the temp sensor. The specs are 1090 ohms at room temperature. 120 VAC to the igniter, no voltage then replace the control board. 3.2-3.6 VAC to the gas valve. If that voltage is found then replace the valve. If that voltage is out of specs and you have 120 VAC to the igniter, replace the igniter even if it glows.

Sandi, the oven sensor can be tested for resistance and it should measure around 1100 Ohms at room temperature and rise 2 Ohms for every 1°F it increases when exposed to a hair dryer. If the sensor tests good, the heater would be suspected if it will not heat back up after canceling the cycle and restarting bake immediately. If the unit will not go back to temperature unless the cycle is canceled and turned back on, the failure would likely be in the relay control board (the REV number would be necessary for accurate part number identification).
