For Whirlpool Washer Bearing And Tub Seal Kit (Part Number: OEM15975108)

Bob for Model Number Whirlpool Cabrio; Model WTW6800WW1

How do you ensure the bottom bearing washer will be properly aligned with bottom edge of spacer tube? See your video at 16 min, 49 sec for reference to this question (great video, BTW). I followed your procedure exactly. When I started to tighten the bottom press nut, I sensed that something was wrong, and stopped. I removed: the bottom press nut, the thrust bearing, and the bottom bearing press to examine my work. When I looked through the hole of the bottom bearing that I was trying to seat, I could see that the bottom bearing washer was mis-aligned & damaged (bent). I had to knock out the spacer tube (which damaged it), washer (already damaged), and bottom bearing (I probably damaged it), and have to buy these three components new. Before I try again, what can I do to be 100% sure the bottom washer will snug up properly against the bottom of the spacer tube correctly? The problem is that the diameter of washer & spacer tube is much larger than the diameter of the press rod. So, there's nothing to guide the washer and get it seated in the right position since it just "hangs" loosely along outer edge of the press rod. Maybe add a little lubricant to one edge of washer so that it "sticks" to bottom edge of spacer tube?

Bob, You will want to try putting a little bit of grease on the bearing to hold the part to the washer to the tube and the bearing to keep it in place.

Steve for Model Number WTW8800YW1

I had brown grease coming out of the bottom of my washer and my washer would be wildly unbalanced and display the UL error code. I was told the bearings and seal had gone bad. So I replaced the bearings and seal and I also replaced the suspension rods. While it no longer leaks under the washer, it still gets wildly out of true unbalanced during spin cycle and get the UL error code. Might there be other issues that I need to consider? Stater motor? Rotor? Bent drive shaft/rod? Thanks!

Steve, For this issue you will want to check to see if the balance ring still has the solution in it. If it does not then this would be the issue. The inner basket would need replaced if this is the case.

Michael for Model Number MVWB950YW0

I have a Maytag HE Washer Model MVWB950YW0, which has a noise problem when spinning and will not spin hard enough to expel water as it should. So I ordered the the bearing kit W104353102 from APP( you guys) and a press tool from another company at a substantially lower cost. I noticed in the video that the bearing kit comes with written instructions which I did not receive with my order. So I called and spoke with one of your reps to have either instructions sent via e-mail or via USPS. After explaining my situation I was told that to receive the written instructions I would have to purchase both the bearing kit and the bearing press tool from APP. There are enough videos on the internet that tell you how to perform the bearing replacement but the variations are many. A set of written specs and replacement procedures would be nice to have concidering the price I paid for the kit. Thank You

Hello Bryan, It is recommended to replace the outer tub assembly W10381077 on this unit. If you want to change the bearing and tub seal you will need to order both the kit W10435302 and the installation tool W10447783 since the tub assembly is plastic and easily cracked from removal and re-installation of the bearings.

Michael, For a proper diagnosis, we would need you to please verify the model number from the units' I.D. tag since it will not come up for us as a valid model number.

Jason, This kit should have come with grease and glue and will want to use what the manufacturer specifies.

Michael, The bearing and tub seal kit W10435302 will work for your unit and would not be a bad idea to replace the basket hub at the same time if there is wear on it.
