For Whirlpool Electronic Control Board (Part Number: OEM18064251)

Shawn for Model Number rbd305pds14

We had quite a few power outages a few weeks back and the display on my oven went blank. I checked out your site to see what might be the problem. I concluded by reading all the posts that it was the control board. I replaced the board and it lit up fine but now am getting a lock error code. I know for a fact that the oven locked then unlocked while going through a start up diagnostic...but shortly after it unlocked it threw a F5 F2 code(I believe that's it) and then a keypad error. What would cause both of these errors? The technician was baffled as well. The only thing he thought was that the control panel was bad as well...? Any ideas?

Shawn, There is a possibility that the surge could have caused the failure of the lock switches on the latch assembly. On the f2 error code if you hit the cancel button and after 60 seconds the code returns then you would need to replace the keypad. It is possible for a surge to take out several components on a unit. Normally only one is affected but because it was the control circuit the chances of components attached would be damaged.

Hello George, The F2 E6 error code indicates a key drive line open. You will want to check for a firm connection of keypad to board. Press cancel and if error code returns after 60 seconds then replace keypad. If it does not then replace control board. It is possible that because the transformer was bad it could have damaged new control board.

Hello Roger, The control panel does not have to be replaced with the control board. The appearance may be a little different but should be the same.

Tracy J for Model Number Whirlpool Double Ovens RBD275PDS14

We purchased the Whirlpool double ovens when we were building our house 7 years ago. In the past few months the oven will beep randomly several beeps and nothing will be displayed on the digital key pad. When nothing is displayed the oven will not respond at all when buttons are pressed. However, it will randomly beep again and the message E6 F2 will appear and the oven may work for a period of time. After researching this problem on line, we ordered and replaced the keypad 1 month ago and the oven was working fine. However, this past week the same problem started again with the random beeps, E6 F2 message and the oven working some and not working some. My question is should I now purchase and replace the other part (control board)? Is this part easy to replace? My father and husband installed the keypad..... so aggravated with it all!

Hello Tracy, The keypad is not making good contact with the control board. You may want to make sure that the cooling fan is running and check the connector on the control is good. If this checks ok then you would want to replace the control board WPW10438751.

Hello Keith. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the control thermal fuse WP4451042 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit.

Tom G for Model Number RBD305PDB14

A couple of weeks ago my oven began randomly beeping when not in use. Now it is very frequently, like every minute or two. When it beeps it seems to cycle into timed bake, then stops, then into door lock and clean cycle, oven starts, then it stops and unlocks. I'm guessing (and I mean guessing) that it is part 8001917. Two years ago I had a serviceman out who replaced part numner 8300435, the membrane switch. Can you verify what is wrong and what I need to replace?

1 Answer

Hello Tom, You will want to check your connection of the ribbon cable from the membrane switch to the clock assembly. It could be loose or corroded harness connector. If the connection is good then you would want to replace the membrane switch WP8300435.
