For Whirlpool Electronic Control Board (Part Number: OEM18064251)

Helpingneighbor for Model Number RBD305PDS14

My neighbor's Whirlpool double oven (stainless steel) is completely out (no digital clock display and the bake/broil/start button does not turn on anything). No error message was displayed either. However, when you open the oven door the light bulb is on which means there is electrical supply to the oven. What could be possible wrong with the oven and which replacement part does my neighbor need to purchase to get the oven working again. Thanking you in advance for your help!

Helping, Check and make sure there is 220 - 240 VAC to the oven. It does sound like the control power transformer has an issue, That may be where you want to start. You'll need to remove the control panel to access the transformer WP9760587 and test the P16 connector for voltage out to the transformer(120 VAC). and Low voltage (21 VAC) back to the main control board WPW10438751 with a multimeter. We'll be sending you the wiring diagram, so you'll understand a bit better.

Hi Sue. The oven control (clock) part # WPW10438751 will be needing replaced. Pay close attention to the pin connectors and replace them one at a time if possible. Look at the female connectors themselves and make sure the # 1 pin matches the # 1 terminal on the connector so it is not mis pinned incorrectly since they all look similar. Thank You.

Hello Cliff, This sounds like a bad electrical connection. Here's what to try. Discontinue the power supply to the unit. Open the lower door and remove the two screws, (one on each side), that holds the trim on. Pull out and down on the trim to remove. Now remove the two screws from the outside edge that holds the control panel on. Pull it out a hair and raise it straight up to remove it so you can gain access to the control area. Remove the ribbon cable and, using the eraser end of a pencil, rub the electrical traces in the same direction as the traces run. This is the best way I have found to clean the connections. Reinstall the ribbon cable and reassemble the unit. Re-establish the electrical supply to the unit and test. If this didn't solve the issue, you will either have to replace the clock assembly or the control panel. Normally if this doesn't work, it's the clock assembly that has the issue.

Irina, Here's some help : "1. Disconnect the electrical power to the double oven. 2. Open the lower oven door. 3. Remove the bottom screw from each of the two side trim pieces 4. To remove the side trim, pull the bottom out approximately 2?, and slide the top down to free it from the control panel. 5. Remove the screws from the oven control panel. 6. To remove the oven control panel, pull it out at the bottom, and lift and unhook it from the oven cabinet support at the top. 7. Disconnect the wire connectors from the control board and set the panel face down on a padded surface to protect the finish. To remove the oven control/display boards: a) Remove the mounting screws. b) Lift the ends of the locking arm and disconnect the ribbon cable from its connector. NOTE: The control and display boards are designed to be replaced as an assembly." Thanks and Good Luck

Hello Bill. Yes, based on the information you provided, it sounds like the control board WPW10438751 is bad and will need to be replaced. Test for power from the control to the elements. If there is no power there, you will need to replace the control in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
