John M. October 26, 2012 for Model Number KUDB23HBO How big of a project is it to replace the impeller kit p/n 675806? How is it done?
1 Answer Hello John, Replacing the impeller kit is a big project. I am attaching a link to the picture of the motor assembly for the unit. You will need to disassemble the motor assembly from top down to impeller. Once you do that then you work your way back up. I would suggest laying the parts out in the order that you took them out. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/pump-motor-parts-for-whirlpool-kudb23hb0.html Read More...
Earl September 03, 2012 for Model Number DU5004XM-0 I ordered part no. 675806 drain and wash impeller kit for a Whirlpool DU5004XM-0 Dishwasher. But the dishwasher motor shaft was too wide for the replacement part that goes over it. Motor shaft approximately 3/8 in. diameter. The part that fails to fit is the bottom component on the instruction sheet. What should I do now?
1 Answer Earl, The part you're describing is the drain impeller. It is a "tight" fit on the motor shaft, it has to be. you may need to check and clean any corrosion off the shaft, and check the opening for any "slag" or debris on the impeller. You may also want to apply a very thin coat of lightweight oil to the shaft, before you install the impeller, to keep the shaft from corroding. Read More...
David August 13, 2012 for Model Number GU980SCGB2 The dishwasher fills and washes ok, but when it drains, it leaks around the motor shaft. Is this seal kit the one I want??
Dean August 04, 2012 for Model Number Part Number: AP3115180 DU943pwkq0 I can't get the grey impeller piece off of the motor shaft. I suspect it is rusted together. Got any removal tips?
1 Answer Hello Dean, I use a small screwdriver placed into the side of the impeller and then loosen the screw. This will sometimes break the impeller because the screw tightens in the direction the motor spins, so every time the motor runs, it effectively tightens the screw that much more. If you have the impeller kit, you have a new impeller to replace the one you will probably break. This is by no means your fault, but the design of the unit. You can use a small strap wrench around the outer diameter of the impeller if you plan to reuse it. Read More...

Richard K April 24, 2012 for Model Number 665.1581592 Kenmor dishwasher. Replaced the tub seal and lost one of the two white balls. What would be the result if we re-assembled with only one ball? What is the function of the balls? we still have a leak but now it appears to be comming off the slinger disc just above the motor.
1 Answer Richard, You're on track, if the leak is from around the motor shaft and dropping onto the "slinger" then replacing the seal impeller kit [lAP3115180] should solve the issue. As for the "check" balls in the pump, Yes, you'll need to replace the one you lost WP302709 They do serve a purpose, They maintain pressure in the pump during the wash cycle and act as an anti syphon device in the drain mode, so they're needed for proper operation. We'll be sending you some additional information. Good Luck and Thanks. Read More...
Scott March 21, 2012 for Model Number DP8500xxn2 After completing wash cyc. washer can be off for several hours then it will leak around pump area, washes fine, dont leak while running.? Thanks
1 Answer Hi Scott. Look at the botom of the sump area where the top of the motor shaft enters it. Look with a flashlight and see if there is dirty dishwasher soap leaking at this point. If so there is the impellor and seal kit needing replaced part # 675806. If you do not want to do all of that then you can replace the whole motor/sump assy.part # W10428023. Thank You. Read More...
Desirae February 20, 2012 for Model Number kudi24sewh2 My spray arms spin, but when washing their do not spray
1 Answer Desirae, First check and make sure there is plenty of water in the bottom of the tub. After you start the dishwasher, let it wash for 3 to 5 minutes, then unlatch the door, remove the lower rack. the water level in the bottom of the tub, should be touching the bottom of the heater element, if the machine is filling proper. The less water in the tub, the less pressure you have in the system and the arms wont turn. If the water level is OK, then you're on the right track, check and replace the impeller kit. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
Brandon February 17, 2012 for Model Number DU980QPDB6 The upper spray arm is not working causing the dishes to not get clean. What is the best way to fix?
1 Answer Hello Brandon. Check and make sure the fine filter is good and clean on the unit. Also, make sure the water level is filling up properly on the unit. If it is not close to the bottom of the heater, you will need to replace the water valve W10844024 on the unit. Hope this helps. Read More...
Dawn N. November 07, 2011 for Model Number KUDG25SHBL0 Our dishwasher is shooting up small particles of food and debris on the dishes and glasses. It is sometimes blackish colored but always small particles. The bottom spinner spins around but is wearing on the top. We can't figure out how it can come up and rub on the lower basket since there is a gray plastic screw that holds it down. There doesn't seem to be any amount of debris underneath the clear screen just below this armature. Do you have any ideas what this could be? This dishwasher is about six years old and we had a repair man fix the pump that drains the water out because it was running all over the kitchen floor and that was about two years ago. It has worked great until this last month.
1 Answer Hi Dawn. The impeller kit needs replaced. Part # 675806. It comes with instructions. You need to clean all wash arms with a pick tool under the sink, flushing it out with water. Under the lower arm retainer nut is a nylon ring part # WP9742946. The bearing ring on the bottom side is part # WP3376846. If these are split and allowing a sloppy wash arm, this may be why it is hitting the underside of the basket. Use dishwasher magic part # TJ104 monthly. Double check the drain hose end to see if they are clogged. Make sure you have a drain hose loop up as far under the back wall of the sink, mounted to the wall. Then drain hose taught into the sink drain, this will allow the sink water not to back fill the unit and recirculate. Thank You. Read More...
