The Dryer Lint Filter is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool electric dryers. This essential screen traps lint and debris released from tumbling clothes. Consistent filtration is key for safety and performance. This filter measures approximately 12 1/2 inches wide and 10 1/2 inches deep.

Causes of a clogged lint filter can be an accumulation of lint from regular drying cycles plugging ventilation holes. Neglecting filter cleaning allows fluff to build up rapidly.

Symptoms of a dirty lint filter include:

  • Extended drying times as airflow is restricted
  • Overheating problems or melted slots in the filter housing
  • Risk of dryer or clothing fires from unvented lint buildup

This OEM replacement part is also compatible with Kenmore and Maytag models too, it removes the fire hazard of neglected cleaning.

For Whirlpool Dryer Lint Filter (Part Number: OEM11903766)

Hello Ian, If the timed dry is the only cycle that will dry the clothes and you have to run the clothes more than one cycle to dry them, the exhaust duct should be checked. This is the ducting in the home that carries the heat, lint, and moisture out of the home. This would also cause the automatic cycles not to operate properly. Flexible ducting can fill with water or lint and can also be crimped by sliding the dryer against the wall so it should be checked closely.

Hello Rich, While this sounds like a thermistor issue, we actually need the complete model number from the units' I.D. tag, including the three digits before the "." to look up the specific model you have. I'm sorry but this is necessary to pull the wiring diagram, (if this is a model we can pull this info on since Kenmore doesn't share a lot of their information), for a proper diagnosis. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Doug, In order to clean the vent you would either want to pull the front panel off the unit and clean out the vent duct or you will want to get a condenser brush 4210463RW.
