Russell January 08, 2021 for Model Number MEDE201YW0 I purchased this kit for my dryer, but when i went to install, the hole diameter on the wheels did not fit the shafts on the dryer - none of them worked. I had to return the kit. why is this kit listed as being a valid replacement for my dryer?
1 Answer Russell, the rollers used in the maintenance kit 4392067 are the same ones recommended by the manufacturer for your model. As the rollers WPW10314173 are not supposed to have a gap between them and the roller shafts, they can become difficult to slide onto the shaft if there is a slight tilt of the roller when installing. A damaged roller shaft can also cause difficulty installing the rollers as the slightest bur can stop it. Read More...
Bruce October 25, 2020 I installed this kit in my dryer about 17 months ago. The dryer started making a rumbling noise at start-up which settled down after a few minutes. Now I have started getting a screeching noise at start-up along with the rumble. I am going to pull it apart again tomorrow and try to figure out what is going wrong but I suspect one of the new rollers has failed.
1 Answer Hello Bruce, yes access the rear drum rollers to check if one is binding, if it close to the heater duct check your exhaust venting, a restricted vent can cause that area to overheat and dry up the roller lubricant. Read More...
Jim September 28, 2020 for Model Number 11067032601 When I installed a dryer maintenance kit 4392607 in a kenmore dryer model 11067032601 everything fit but the belt. That was too short. The belt I need is 8547157. Is there a kit with that belt? Thanks.

Topher June 27, 2020 for Model Number WED 9151YWO....Whirlpool I just installed the roller/belt items in a friends dryer. Also did this to mine...6 years old, hers was one of the first front loaders, similar to mine listed under Model Number to the left. So, in your video, you ALWAYS say the metal TAB on the dryer drum must fact forward. When I removed hers, the tab was at the rear. I removed the drum and upon re-installation, thought I'd try putting the metal TAB to the front. Now, she didn't have problems with it the way it was. I connected the belt and it absolutely would not line-up with the old belt mark. Turn and adjust as I may, NO CIGAR. So, I removed the drum and put it back the WAY I FOUND IT....TAB TO THE REAR. Belt on, tracked the old belt-mark perfectly! So, clearly, putting the tab to the front on this drum, was entirely ineffective. This drum just like mine. So, WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH THE TAB? Thanks, Chris
1 Answer Topher, There really is no significance in what the orientation of the tab is. You just want to pay attention to how it comes out and put it back in the same way. Read More...
Mike April 26, 2020 for Model Number WED8500BW0 I changed the belt on my dryer, but the top of the pulley is rubbing against the belt. In all videos that I've seen, the pulley arm is much lower. I know I have the right belt. There also doesn't seem to be any damage to the pulley arm or the spring. It will also operate, but I'm sure the belt will break soon due to it rubbing against the pulley. Any help and/or guidance is appreciated.
1 Answer Mike, In most cases, there is a diagram somewhere on your unit that shows the correct way to install the belt. Also, make sure that the belt is straight above the motor pulley around the drum. put this part number in our site and watch the video to see how the belt goes around the pulleys.661570V Read More...

Bill March 16, 2020 for Model Number MED6000XWO What is whirlpool’s recommendation for lubricant for the shafts of the idler pulley and drum rollers. After doing some research and seeking advice, opinions vary from nothing to 3 in 1 oil, WD40 and dry graphite. I am inclined to nothing or dry graphite. Would Silicone with a wide temperature range be a better option? On disassembly the shafts seem to have some type of lubricant. Cannot find a consensus on that. Any thoughts?
1 Answer Hello Bill, dryer rollers do not require any type of additional lubrication for their service life. Their bearings are usually sintered metal that has been impregnated with a light oil, as the bearing wears more lubricant is exposed. The roller shafts are highly polished to ensure low wear. If the rollers are worn, noisy or vibrate they need to be replaced along with the shafts that usually have score marks. Adding extra lube of any kind will not compensate for a worn bearing and the lube will only collect the very fine lint in the area of the bearing and will cause more problems. Read More...
