Mwp December 18, 2013 for Model Number MEC5430BDS Switch for large dual burner on cooktop is fried (front right burner). Looks like it melted a portion of the wiring harness as well. It would appear that Part # 12002121 (AP4009110) is the right OEM replacement part for the switch, but I need to buy a new harness as well that matches this switch. The diagram isn't clear on which harness this is. Please advise on which wiring harness part matches with the switch for this position.
1 Answer MWP, Based on the parts research diagrams, the 12002121 is the correct Infinite Switch Kit to order, and should be a straight across replacement, practically. The harness 5171P422-60 Harness-Wire will replace the right side wire harness for both the right front and rear burner switches and elements. You should be fine with these two parts. Read More...

But my question is how do I get the stove apart to get to the element that I have to replace. I don't want to damage my stove in trying to remove parts.
1 Answer John, To take the main top off the unit, you will remove the 2 screws in the door opening on the side that will allow you to lift the main top. Once the main top is lifted you will disconnect the wire harness in the back of unit. Read More...
