Greg, you will need to test the limiter on the element. To test the limiter you will test from 1a to 2a and at room temp there should be continuity. From 1b to 2 b it should be infinite.

Hello Jim! You'll need to check for 240v going to the element. If its there and the element isn't heating you'll need to replace the element, part number W10823711. If its not, you'll need to replace the infinite control switch, part number WP7403P238-60. Thanks.

Jennifer for Model Number Maytag Gemini electric double range

I can't find the model number for my Maytag Gemini range (there are stickers inside both doors, but they only show a serial number, no model number: 8114P749-60, for what it's worth). I removed the kickplate, no number . . . the range is at least 8 years old—I don't have the manual, as it came with the house when we bought it. The front right burner (a dual burner—9 inches across for the "large" setting, about 5 1/2-6" for smaller) only heats up the smaller middle part. It appears that a part of the outer heating element is burned out and I need to replace it. Is it possible to tell me if the dual element burner replacement # 74009743 would replace this burner? Thanks!

Hello Jennifer, without a model number we cannot assure you that this is the correct element replacement for your unit. However you might want to try part number W10823709. This is a dual element that resembles your measurements, thanks!
