For Whirlpool Water Filter Head And Tube Assembly (Part Number: OEM18031194)

N Hubbard for Model Number JSD2695KES

I recently replaced the water filter head assembly and tubes part number 67004106 (AP4080076) because there was a leak in the water inlet tube. Before doing this, the water pressure out of the water dispenser was a little low but ice was made with no problems. After putting in the new filter head, the water dispenses faster but no water is going to the ice maker. I reseated the water filter but this did not make a difference. The supply tube to the ice maker had a little water frozen in it inside the freezer but this was cleared away. Any idea why no water is getting to the ice maker but is dispensing at the front ok?

N Hubbard, You will want check for power to the icemaker water valve to make sure that when the icemaker calls for water that there is power to the valve. If there is no power then the issue will most likely be in the icemaker. If there is power then the issue would be either a frozen water line, or a water valve that is defective. The filter head would not be the issue. Also make sure that all water lines are reconnected properly.

Hello Amanda. The particles are carbon from the carbon filter. Sometimes it takes several gallons to clear the water up. Try running a few more through the filter.

Mike for Model Number ARSE66ZBB

Previously when dispensing water the output was intermittent but it cleared up but now when the icemaker fills the refrigerator makes a banging sound that can be heard throughout the house. I've tested all four solenoids with an ohm meter and hey all test consistent with each other. No hi res opens. I am not sure which water valve is giving me the problem the main which I assume is the valve that takes the water from the source to the filter and back to the secondary valve. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Mike, If the unit is not making the noise when the dispenser is depressed then the primary water valve would not be the issue. The secondary valve would be more likely the culprit causing the noise with your unit.

Hello Cory. If you press in on the compression ring, the water line should pull out once the compression ring is pressed.

Jim, In a lot of cases this issue would be caused by one of 2 things. The first is you will want to make sure that the filter was twisted in all the way. If the filter is not twisted in all the way it will cause the pins that are in the filter head to not be fully depressed and causing the hammering noise. The second if the filter is twisted in all the way is that the filter head is faulty because the pins are not going straight in and sitting at an angle and creating the noise. In this case you would need to replace the filter head assembly WP67004106.

Hello Danin. These are not to hard to replace. Turn off water and power. 1. Remove filter cover opening cover and pulling rear left side of cover to the left to release cover from holding pin. 2. Filter head can be released from holding bracket by opening tabs on left side filter head and pulling downward and to your left to release filter head. 3. Tubing needs to be disconnected from water valves in the machine compartment. 4. After tubing is loose from water valves pull the filter head and tubing out the front of unit. 5. Reverse procedure to reassemble.

Skip, You didn't mention an issue, but you want to make sure the water tank behind the crisper drawers is not frozen, and there's plenty of water at the fill valve connection. 1. Unplug refrigerator or disconnect power. 2. Turn off the water supply to the refrigerator. 3. Open the refrigerator compartment doors and remove any items from around the water dispenser switch. 4. Slide the water dispenser screw cover up and remove it. 5. Remove the hex-head screw from the water dispenser. 6. Pull the top of the water dispenser out and remove the water dispenser from the liner. 7. Disconnect the two wires from the dispenser switch terminals. 8. Push and release the locking tabs on the water dispenser switch, and pull the switch off the housing pins. 9. Disconnect the end of the water dispenser tube at the quick-disconnect coming from the water reservoir. 10. Remove the retaining clip and water tubing from the water dispenser housing and pull the end of the tube off the housing. 11. Pull the water dispenser tubing out of the channel in the refrigerator liner. As long as the filter and filter housing are clean and the filter is installed properly, you should find the issue in the switch assembly.
