For Whirlpool Water Filter Head And Tube Assembly (Part Number: OEM18031194)

Hello Ashkan. Try removing the water line from the bottom of the door and see if water comes out there. If so, the water line in the door is frozen and will need to be replaced on the unit.

Hello Kim. You need to remove the toe panel and lay in the floor with a light. Have someone press the paddle and look for where the water is leaking from and replace the bad part on the unit.

Paul, Normally if you put the bypass in and the unit dispenses then the issue is caused by a faulty water filter. If the water filter is new then the issue would most likely be the filter head.

Shawn, The first thing that you will want to do is to make sure that when the filter is installed that it is twisted all the way in. It will feel like it stops and you will need to try to turn it just a little more. If the filter is not all the way in it will start the pulsating as the unit is being dispensed. If the filter is fully in and still pulsating then the filter head would need to be replaced on the unit.

M.J.S. for Model Number GD25DFXB02

Hi, I have the side by side whirlpool fridge model GD25DFXB02. It has been slow over the past few months, changed the filter with one of your replacements, and it was great for about 2 weeks and then seriously slowed (to little more than a trickle.) thought it might be one bad filter, so two weeks in I changed to the second one, let the recommended amount of water go through and again, was flowing nicely for two weeks, then slowed. Not sure if this is relevant, but when I took the filter out, the water was also flowing great. Do I need to replace the water filter head? I appreciate any suggestions!

Hello M.J.S., This sounds like excessive debris in the water supply. If you have had a water heater failure recently, you could have debris in the water supply from the old water heater. Otherwise, I think you should install an in-line filter behind the unit for two reasons: The in-line filter replacements are usually much cheaper to replace than the on-board filters. Secondly, the in-line filters have not experienced issues that the on-board filters have. The on-board filters even generated service bulletins with "curing" issues from the manufacturers.

Corey A for Model Number Amana AFD2535DEW

Hello, I have an issue where the water filter is actually locked on to the spigot. It's supposed to come off easily, but I think it's calcified on. Which parts do I need to replace in order to get it working again? I assume the filter and then the 67004106 head. Anything else that I'm missing? I also have a problem that the same side as the water filter, on the back of the refrigerator, about half way down, there are spots where there is actually water weeping out through bubbles in the paint. That tells me something inside is leaking and has been for quite a while. Is there a schematic on how to take it apart? Any educated guess on what it might be? Thanks!

1 Answer

Hello Corey. The filter will twist off the head, but usually are very tight. Hold the head with one hand and twist very hard to remove the filter. If you can not then you will need to replace both parts on the unit.
