Andy P July 26, 2017 for Model Number GEW9250PW0 My dryer has no heat. I have cleaned out the exhaust and vent of any lint, and I have replaced the thermal fuse. I do not have a multi- or ohm meter for testing components. What is the most likely part that needs to be replaced? If the heating element is bad, is there anything visible I can inspect? What do you suggest?
1 Answer Andy, The heater element WP3387747 / 3387747 is a very good possibility, Without a meter, you should probably check that next, you'll need to remove the element assembly and visually inspect the element wire for breaks and or large arc marks on the plate. Remove power to the dryer and then the lower access panel. Remove the hex-head screw from the heater shield and remove the shield. To remove the heater: Remove the two wires from the terminal block. Remove the hex-head screw from the heater housing, and slide the heater out of the duct. If you see no damage or issues with the element assembly, you'll need to get access to a multi meter TJMA-DM1 so you can test the thermostat, thermistor and wiring to determine where the issue is. It'll be less expensive and less frustrating if you do. Thanks, Read More...

Matlin July 14, 2017 for Model Number 110.84821300 I have a Kenmore Elite HE3 110.84821300. I took a photo of the heating element before I took anything apart. The solid red wire was on the bottom. The red & white wire was on the top. All the tutorials say to wire it opposite. What do I do?
1 Answer Matlin, The red white wire will go between the hi limit thermostat and the element and the red wire will go to the thermal cutoff and there should be a jumper wire between. It will not matter which terminal of the heater that the Red/white and red to the heater go to as either side will work. Read More...
Babette January 23, 2017 for Model Number DF308-248455ZF Maytag Drier - purchased 2001 - The heating element is not working - Can this be repaired with existing parts which are available on-line?
1 Answer Hello Babette. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the heater and thermostats and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter MA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Chris January 20, 2017 for Model Number WED9250WL0 I have a whirlpool duet dryer , do I have to remove both the top and the back of the dryer to get the heating element out . I have removed the lower front panel but I can not get the element out. Thank you ,Chris
1 Answer Chris, No, you do not need to remove the top or back panel to access the heater assembly. Once you remove power to the dryer, and the lower access panel Remove the hex-head screw from the heater shield and remove the shield. To remove the heater: a) Remove the two wires from the terminal block. b) Remove the hex-head screw from the heater housing, and slide the heater out of the duct. To remove the high-limit thermostat or the thermal cutoff: a) Disconnect the wires from the high limit thermostat or the thermal cutoff. b) Remove the two hex-head screws. Reverse the procedure to install the replacement part. Remember to mark or label the wires as you remove them from the terminals, or take a photo so you can reinstall the wires properly. Read More...

Dan July 22, 2016 for Model Number GEW9200LW1 I have a Whirlpool Electric Dryer that does not heat up. I checked the Heater Element and it is getting 240 volts. I then checked the continuity between the Heater Element, Thermal Cur Off, and High Limit Thermostat. There was continuity between all 3. I have concluded that I need to replace the Heating Element. Does this sound right?
