Dan April 06, 2015 for Model Number WDF530PAYM4 My Whirlpool dishwasher stopped drying a few weeks ago. I tested the heating element with a multimeter and determined it was bad. I contacted Whirlpool for a replacement heating element and installed the replacement when I received it. When I installed it, the threading in the nuts they sent with the heating element didn't match the threading on the ends. I didn't think much of it and went ahead and tightened them anyway as best I could, ensured it was a snug fit on both ends, and re-connected the heating element. As best as I can tell, I still get no heat or very little heat from the heating element and am now wondering if they sent the wrong part (and should try buying one from you). I would the part back but Whirlpool won't give me a refund once the part is installed. Could I have gotten the wrong part? If I buy from you instead and it turns out to be the wrong part, what is your refund policy?
1 Answer Dan, The heating element part number for your unit is W10518394 and here is a link to the return policy http://www.appliancepartspros.com/customerservice/returns.aspx. You will want to check to make sure that the control board is sending power to the heating element and make sure that the thermostat is not defective. Read More...

Ben February 20, 2015 for Model Number Kenmore Dishwasher 66513279k114 Our Kenmore 66513279K114 started leaving the dishes very wet about 2 weeks ago. When it would finish a cycle (light says complete) dishes would be clean but very wet and no heat/steam whatsoever to speak of when opening after 'drying cycle.' I examined the heating element and noticed a crack in it. I ordered the appropriate replacement. Installed but still no heat/drying. I did some more digging and read that the high temp (limit) switch might be bad. I ordered a replacement, installed it and still no heat. I've checked resistance on the limit switch (both old and new) and they read 0 - so they should BOTH be fine. Resistance on the new heating element reads 11. From what I've read that is within an acceptable range. Is the Controller board my only other option for failure here? What about wiring harness? How do I go about checking if those are the problem?
1 Answer Ben, All your information indicates there should be no problem drying the dishes, unless the wire harness has frayed or broke, or the control board heater relay has failed. First remove the door panel and check the wire harness at the bottom of the door, where it transitions to the bottom of the tub. The harness has a tendency to fray and break in this area due to the door openings over the years. If the harness checks OK, then check or replace the control board. Read More...

Tom January 03, 2015 for Model Number GU2455XTSS0 The dishwasher errors when I try to run hi temp wash or sanitizer. It will run on normal or rinse only cycles to completion but it isn't cleaning well or drying. I believe I need to replace the element. The unit is 8 years old and the element looks worn. Dark spots. Is there anything other than the element I should check?
1 Answer Tom, There are thermostats for the heater that could be faulty which would keep the unit from heating the water properly and cause a drying issue. Read More...
