Debra September 07, 2014 for Model Number WDF310PAAB2PAAWO I noticed that dishes were still wetter than usual after a cycle. Upon inspection, I saw that there was an area of the heating element that looked like something had burnt onto it or destroyed it in some way. When I went to gently touch that area, the heating element literally broke apart right at that area. We ordered and replaced the heating element, and ran a normal cycle. All seemed to go OK, but I noticed that the dishwasher didn't seem to get as hot as it used to. When the cycle was complete and I opened the dishwasher, the temperature was definitely not as hot as I can remember it always being, and sure enough, the dishes are not that dry. Since the heating element was clearly broken, I am at a loss at what else it could be and where we go from here. Thank you!
1 Answer Hello Debra, You will need to check the hi-limit thermostat and verify voltage and neutral to the element. The only other thing in the circuit is the harness. I would suspect the control W10804120 since the excessive current flow produced by the element burning out will normally damage the relays on the board. Read More...
Brad S July 01, 2014 The clean light is flashing on our dishwasher. We replaced the heating coil which was not working. Got everything hooked back up and that light does not go off. Is there a reset button somewhere? We checked the new element to make sure it was not the problem and it is fine.
1 Answer Brad, With the clean light still flashing, you will need to test to see if there is power going from the control board to the heating element. If there is no power then the control board would need to be replaced. It is possible that the element being bad could have shorted the control board as well. Read More...
James June 11, 2014 for Model Number du810swpq3 I just changed my heating element on a whirlpool dishwasher model # du810swpq3 and the water is still not getting hot. What else could it be? The float seems to work fine because the water is almost to the element. I'm at a loss. Thank you, James

C A September 01, 2013 for Model Number DU1055XTPQ3 My dishwasher was working the last time I used it. When I loaded it today and tried to start it, nothing would light up and it would not come on at all. I checked fuses, pulled out the dishwasher and plugged it into another socket that I knew worked. Still nothing. Any ideas?
1 Answer C A. You will want to test the thermal fuse on the unit to make sure that it has continuity. If not then the thermal fuse 8193762 is faulty and would need to be replaced. Read More...
Connie August 01, 2013 for Model Number W10130986A I need a new heating element for my dishwasher, should I purchase it and have it here for the repairman or would I wait for them to review and repair?
1 Answer Hello Connie. If you are sure the element is bad, you can order it and have it for them. If you are not sure, it may be best to wait until they confirm it for you. A good element will read closed for continuity. A bad element will read open for continuity. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
