Liz March 22, 2020 for Model Number MGT8720DH02 I am needing a new ignitor for the top oven on my double Range. Is the WPW10324738 the correct ignitor for the top oven or is that for the top broiler?

Mike Benz March 08, 2020 for Model Number KGRS505XSS00 I replaced the bottom bake igniter with 7432P143-60 and now a few days later, the top over bake igniter isn't lighting (go figure) At first nether the bake or broil igniters in the top oven worked but after rebooting the oven, the broil works now but the bake is dead. There are two igniters listed for this model: 7432P143-60 W10324738 Again 7432P143-60 worked in the bottom bake oven. Is that the same part number for the top bake igniter and if so is W10324738 for the boiler? The diagram really isn't very informative on which is which. I did find a reference to W10324738 where the description said it was for the broiler but I want to double check before i order the igniter for the top bake oven. Also i noticed the convection fan doesn't seem to turn on in the bottom over. We really dont use it but if I wanted to get that replaced, are there things I can check before buying a new fan? Thx!!!
1 Answer Mike, The bake ignitor will be W11596211 and the broil is WPW10324738. As far as the fan goes you can check the control board at connectors P5-3 and P6-3 for 120 VAC while in convection bake. If you have voltage and the fans not running then replace the fan motor. No voltage then the control needs replaced. Read More...
Patrick June 17, 2019 for Model Number GGG388LXS00 Hello, I have Whirlpool gas double oven. Upper oven works great; Lower oven will trip breaker while heating up. Any thoughts on what should be replaced? Thank you!
1 Answer Hello Patrick, since the lower oven does not immediately trip the circuit breaker and occurs after the oven is heating there is likely a voltage carrying wire is being pinched or grounded which is tripping the circuit breaker. This would involve removing the rear and side panels and tracing the wire harness. Dom June 04, 2019 for Model Number KGRS505XSS01 Lower oven doesn't heat. Upper oven only heats sometimes (Broil is fine). I believe it is the igniter(s). Drawing shows two different ones, but oven has three. What's the difference between the two in the drawing? Do I need one of each or two of the same?
1 Answer Hello Dom, The manufacturer listed W11596211 as the bake ignitor and WPW10324738 for the broil ignitor on the model provided. Read More...
Jimbob April 21, 2019 for Model Number WGG755S0BS01 Bottom oven and broiler will not work. Do these functions share the same igniters?
1 Answer Jimbob, If your top burners are operating correctly then probably the gas valve WPW10546238 would be the issue. They are separate ignitors and the one thing connected to both is the valve. Read More...
Kyle April 12, 2019 for Model Number WGG555S0BS06 Bottom oven won't heat. Probably igniter. Can I replace the igniter through the bottom of the oven or do I need to access the back to get to the wire harness?
1 Answer Hello Kyle, You should be able to access the ignitor through the floor of the bake compartment. Read More...

Max November 09, 2017 for Model Number KGRS505XSS02 Trying to replace the bottom ignitor (WPW10324738) on a KitchenAid KGRS505XSS02. Can't quite tell if i need to take the back panel off, or if the ignitor can be replaced from inside the front. Lead wires disappear into white insulation. Any help would be much appreciated.
1 Answer Max, You will want to go in through the oven bottom in order to replace the igniter of the oven. Read More...
Jw July 07, 2017 for Model Number KGRS505XBL01 My KitchenAid oven is a freestanding double oven. The middle burner on the stove top and the broiler in the oven (just below the middle burner on the stove top) will light but will not maintain a strong flame and eventually go out all together. Do I need to replace the oven ignitor or the spark module (all the other four burners on the stove top light and work fine)?
1 Answer JW, You're dealing with two separate ignition devices/systems. The broil burner ignition could be and is most likely due to a weak oven burner igniter W11596211 / WP7432P143-60. But the top center burner is a different story. First remove the burner cap, check that all the burner openings are clear, the area around the burner is clear, and look into the opening and make sure there is no debris or grease, etc. blocking the orifice or orifice spud. If all's OK, then suspect the center burner gas valve WPW10298678 / WPW10298678 as the culprit. Read More...
