This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Evaporator Motor (Part Number: OEM18021750)

Hello Jeff, I'm sorry but the manufacturer does not provide enough information to say if these parts are interchangeable or not. From the appearance of the two parts, they are the same voltage and appear to mount the same but you cannot tell if they rotate in the same direction or not. This would be the primary concern in addition to the parts RPM, which would also affect the units' operating temperature. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Refrigerator not cooling. Freezer is freezing. When I first checked this unit, the evap fan motor wasn't working. Checked power to the fan and it showed 120VAC. Replaced the fan motor, but now I'm still not getting any circulation to the refrigerator. I checked the diffuser for any obstruction and didn't see or feel anything. I set the control for the freezer temp to minimum to have as much air flow to the refrigerator as possible but nothing coming through. Last check was 65 degrees in the fridge. What am I missing?

Jeff, You have 2 return air ducts in the unit and an air channel in the freezer on the back wall. You will want to make sure that both of these are not blocked with ice or anything

My refrigerator section is warm. Freezer section below 0 and is getting a lot of frost and ice build up but yet everything is not froze over badly behind the freezers back panel and the air vents to the fridge section are not froze over..I have replaced the defrost timer board and thermostat but problem remains..now I just noticed that the evaporator fan seems to run weak you cant hardly hear it and and the air flow from it is very weak, It is getting the full 120 v ?? Do fan fail like this ??and cause these types of issues ??

Pat, While it is very possible that the fan motor could be weak, it is not likely going to be the issue in this case. You will want to remove the rear wall in the freezer and check the return air ducts for being blocked. Once the wall is remove there will be 3 holes in the floor in front of the evaporator. The 2 outer ones are the return air ducts. Make sure that they are clear and not blocked. If these check ok then also check the tower in the freezer to ensure that there is not ice blockage in the tower as this could be the other issue that is occurring. Make sure that when food is being put into the freezer that is it not getting pushed all the way up against the tower as this can cause moisture build up in the tower and cause it to freeze.

Shelby, This sounds like it would be a possible defrost issue. You will want to remove the rear wall of the freezer and check for impacted evaporator coil. The coil would possibly be iced up causing improper air flow. If it is then test the defrost thermostat and defrost heater for continuity. If these check ok then the control board would be the issue.

Hello Danny. You need to check and see if the evaporator in the freezer is frozen over. If so, you may have a defrost issue causing the probelm with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the back wall of the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat. They should read closed for continuity when cold. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the defrost timer. Once the problem is repaired, you will need to thaw out the ice on the coils before the unit will operate properly. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
