Byron, Yes you can purchase the individual components and repair and replace the bearings and seals. Other than a hammer and a punch or chisel, to knock out the old bearings, no there are no special tools required. You'll need: 12002022 seal and bolt kit, WP22002934 front bearing WP22003441 rear bearing. You may want to "clean up" the tumbler shaft with some penetrating oil and emory cloth, to remove and minor gauges, or scrapes. Thanks

Stan for Model Number mah5500bww

Belt jumped off of pulley. I replaced old belt on pulley and motor shaft. Machine ran, but noisey, metal clunking. Belt jumped off again. New belt was very difficult to put on pulley. Had to have someone turn from inside tub to slip on belt. After a two or three turns of puley, by hand, new belt jumped off of pulley towards the tub. Placed belt on again, spinned twice, repeat (belt jumped off). Warp in pulley was not obvious, but I did not inspect closely. Is it the pulley, the bearings, the outer tub, the motor shaft; what's the best probability? How do I make the repair?

Hello Mark. The normal life is 3 to 5 years on the bearings 22004465 according to the manufacture. If you do not use any oxygen related detergent, they will last longer. Hope this helps.

Hello Dan. Yes, if the bearings are bad, you will need to replace the bearings WP22002934 and WP22003441 and the seal 12002022. These are not easy to install and will need to be pressed into the outer tub assembly, after the old ones are pressed out. Hope this helps.

Hi Vince. The tub support kit is always best replaced with the tub seal so they mate together well. This kit comes with all necessary hardware. I have heard of some people using Emory cloth to clean the shaft of the old one. My question remains "How long will the trick last"? As any seal mates with a solid movable part, it will wear a "ring-groove" in the metal part. This will allow the new seal to initially mate , but fail soon thereafter. Support Assy. Part # W10181639. Thank You.

Hello John. The spacer is used for a run for the bearings to roll on, and is also used to protect the bearings when installed. The bearing have to be pressed into the tub 22004465 to fit properly. Hope this helps.
