Brenda November 05, 2018 for Model Number Whirlpool wtw4820xq My washer tub gets so out of balance when it spins that a suspension spring rod has come loose at the top on two different occasions. I put it back in place and leveled the machine after the first time. It happened again to a different rod. I have removed and checked the 4 suspension rods. They do not appear broken or worn in any way. How do I tell if the Springs are weak and need to be replaced? Is this just trial and error? Thanks
1 Answer Brenda, with an empty basket, push down on the tub and see if it bounces back up quickly. It should not bounce but have some resistance when it comes back up to a normal position. You will probably need to replace the suspension rods. Part number is W10780048, they come in a set of 4, make sure you replace all the parts that come with the kit. Read More...
